CHP184 – Digital Substation Architecture

Design – Applications & System Solutions

Course goal
The participants acquire in-depth application knowledge designing the architecture of digital substation
automation systems. All requirements being potentially in the specification and their impact on the sys-
tem architecture will be discussed. Included are the definitions and roles of station and process bus.

Main learning objectives Topics

The participants will be able to: — Architecture of functions in substations
— Summarize all important features of the (control, monitoring, protection and evalua-
standard IEC 61850 tion)
— List all requirements which may appear in Process supervision, measuring and archiv-
