PROCEDURES IN DLL BRAIN-BASED LEARNING ACTIVITIES


A. ELICIT Make connections Think, group, share
Present a scenario to the class where in
one of the members pass out inside the
classroom. Have them brain storm on
possible solutions.
B. ELICIT Visuals Presentation of videos
Show to the class video clips on
responding to emergency situations. Ask:
how does the rescue team respond on a
given situation
C. ENGAGE Visuals Presentation of pictures
Present jumbled pictures of procedure in
assessing emergency situation for
unintentional injuries. Have them arrange
the picture to its proper procedure in
assessing emergency situation.
D. EXPLORE Hydration and Movement Collaborative work
Before carrying this part let the students
hydrate themselves.
Ask each group to pick out a piece of
paper where different scenarios of
emergency situations are listed. Have
them act out on how they response to a
given situation.

1. After a strong earthquake you see


many victims wounded from
objects. Some are conscious,
some are not.
2. After a fire incident in school, you
see your classmate lying down on
stairs.
3. Think of an emergency that will
may happened on the road.
4. Think of an emergency situation at
home.
E. EXPLORE Talking Group discussion
Ask the students in each group to explain
their responses. Provide the learners
some bits of information about their given
scenarios. Let them “turn and talk” and
discuss if their response or action is
appropriate.
