Exercise 3.1

Q.1: Calculate the radian measurement of the given degree measurement:

(i). 25 °

(ii). 240 °

(iii). -4 7 ° 30'

(iv). 520 °

Sol:

(i). 25 °

As we know that, 180 ° = TT radian

Therefore, 25 ° =
1;0 x 25 radian
= ; radian

5
Hence' 25 ° = 36" radian

(ii). 240 °

As we know that 180 ° = TT radian

Therefore, 240 ° =
1;0 x 240 radian
= \" radian

Hence' 240 ° = 43" radian

(iii). -47 ° 30'

= -47½

-95
= -2- degree

As we know that, 180 ° = TT radian

-95 ,r -95 . -19 . -19

Therefore, -2- degree = 180 x -2- radian =
36 x 2 ?T radian
= ?T

Hence' -47 ° 30' = ?T

72

(iv). 520 °

As we know that, 180 ° = n radian

Therefore, 520 ° 2 " radian

1;0 x 520 radian
= =

26
Hence' 520 ° = 9
" radian
