A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR LUCILO R.


BAYRON TO CONSIDER THE REGULARIZATION OF CHILD DEVELOPMENT
WORKERS OR COMMONLY KNOWN AS DAY CARE WORKERS IN THE CITY OF
PUERTO PRINCESA

WHEREAS, Day Care Centers are institutionalized through Republic Act No. 6972,
also known as the Barangay-Level Total Development and Protection of Children Act,
and Republic Act No. 8980, otherwise known as the Early Childhood Care and
Development;

WHEREAS, the City of Puerto Princesa have existing ____ Child Development Workers
that help children and families who cannot afford private schools for early education;
WHEREAS, these Child Development Workers were properly trained under the
supervision of City Social Welfare and Development Office before they were employed
by the City Government;
WHEREAS, the nature of their work is only Job Order despite the necessity of their
services in the Local Government Unit and despite the challenging extent of their duties
as Child Development Workers;
WHEREAS, every time a new administration will assume office, some Day Care
Workers in barangay levels are being politicized and removed from service;
WHEREAS, their knowledge, skills, trainings, seminars and dedication to serve will be
put into waste if they will be removed from service by reason of their personal beliefs
and political choices;
WHEREAS, it is necessary to protect our day care workers against unreasonable
termination or dismissal from work by giving them security of tenure and other related
benefits required by law;
WHEREAS, it is the duty of the Local Government to promote the welfare of Day Care
Workers, who are in turn tasked to attend to the needs of children and their families;
BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, to pass a resolution requesting the
Honorable City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron to consider the regularization of Child
Development Workers or commonly known as Day Care Workers in the City of Puerto
Princesa
RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be furnished to the Social
Welfare and Development Office, City Legal Office, and City Information Office for their
information.
