A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE OFFICE OF THE CITY

TREASURER TO CAUSE THE STRICT IMPLEMENTATION OF
ORDINANCE NO. 843 OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE TIMBANGAN NG
BAYAN ORDINANCE

WHEREAS, the City Ordinance No. 843 requires the owner/s or management of
public/private markets, supermarkets, and slaughterhouses to provide and install
public weighing scale in their respective establishment;
WHEREAS, under the Ordinance, the City Treasurer is mandated to closely
coordinate with the owners or management of business establishments
aforementioned to effectively implement or enforce the Timbang ng Bayan;
WHEREAS, it was provided further in the Ordinance that the City treasurer shall
subject the Timbangan ng Bayan on quarterly inspection, or at his discretion,
conduct surprise inspection;
WHEREAS, the Ordinance was initially observed in Public Markets with the help
of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Palawan but was not faithfully continued
by Areza – Cruz Corporation during its management to Old and New Markets;
WHEREAS, considering that the City Government of Puerto Princesa has regained
the management, it is timely and appropriate for the Treasurer’s Office, in
coordination with the Office of the Market Superintendent and City Slaughterhouse
to strictly implement again the ordinance;
BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, to pass a resolution requesting the
Office of the City Treasurer to cause the strict implementation of Ordinance No. 843
otherwise known as Timbangan ng Bayan Ordinance;
RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be furnished to the
Business and Licensing Office, City Administration Office, Department of Trade
and Industry Palawan, and City Information Office for their information.
