CURRICULUM IMPLEMENTATION and SUPERVISION OF INSTRUCTION

1. What is Therese's problem, from his perspective? From your perspective?

- The teacher's problem (Therese) is deviating from her anticipated lesson plan to the new science
curriculum.
- In my point of view as a modern-generation teacher it's better to use the ways that our students
can understand the lesson they need to know. We can use things that are easier and more
attentive.

2. What kinds of things should Therese change to the science lesson plan?
- For me, she can use the things that she knows may be more interested in her students as she
wants to use a picture of the animal rather than shape she can use it.
If she knows that in this way the more they understands of her students to introduce the new
science curriculum.

3. Should she change her science lesson plan for principal's visit?
- In my point of view there is no need to change the lesson plan for science subjects but it may
just use techniques to better understand the new curriculum in science like multimedia video
presentation, role playing and interactive games.

Lesson 1
Objective:
To enable students to see that objects can be grouped and regrouped according to certain
characteristics.
Method:
In this lesson the teacher will model the skill of classification. Using one or more shapes familiar
to the students, demonstrate how to sort the shape(s) by different characteristics. These
characteristics may be color, size, texture, etc.
 Add some video presentation for better understanding.
Once the initial classification is understood, demonstrate that the shapes can be reclassified by
another characteristic.
Lesson 2
Objective: To provide guided practice in grouping and regrouping objects according to certain
characteristics.
Method:
Using animal crackers (or something similar, have the students sort the animals by different
characteristics, such as the number of legs, the length of tail, the humps on body, etc.
 Add some video presentation and interactive games for better understanding and
familiarization.
Once the initial classification is understood, help the students to see that they can reclassify the
shapes by a different characteristic.
Lesson 3
Objective: To give students independent practice in grouping and regrouping a variety of
objects according to certain characteristics.
Method:
Using materials available in the classroom (erasers, pencils, chalk, books, etc.), have the
students sort the objects by different characteristics. These characteristics may be shape, size,
color, usage, etc.
 Add some video presentation and role playing for better understanding.
Then have the students reclassify by another characteristic. Be sure that the students
understand the characteristic that is common to each sorting.
As much as she want her own strategies that will make her students more better to understand
her lessons and to be more interested about the new ideas of the new science curriculum.
