boreholes in a site investigation.

Question 4

a) The results of SPT tests and Atterberg Limits carried out in one site is summarised
in Figure Q4a. This SPT was carried out with an equipment with an Energy ratio of
80% (use 60% as reference energy ratio for corrections).

Calculate the angle of shear resistance of Soft blue grey clay and the Sandy Medium
Gravel using Figure Q4b.
