CRITERION 1 Vision, Mission and Program Educational Objectives 50


1.1. State the Vision and Mission of the Department & Institution (5)
(Vision statement typically indicates aspirations and Mission statement states the
broad approach to achieve aspirations)
(Here Institute Vision and Mission statements have been asked to ensure consistency
with the department Vision and Mission statements; the assessment of the Institute
Vision and Mission will be done in the Criterion 9)

Vision of the Institution


To be a center of excellence imparting Technical Education and producing highly
trained Diploma Engineers.

Mission of the Institution


1. To produce industry ready Diploma Engineers.
2. To promote technical skills in different areas of Engineering for higher studies.
3. To develop human potential for entrepreneurship.
4. To strengthen the bonding with allied industries.

Vision of the Department


To strive for continuous excellence in grant of Diploma in Electronics &
Communication Engineering with Emphasis on Skills, Knowledge & behavior.

Mission of the Department


M1. To produce industry ready Electronics diploma engineers.
M2. To inculcate entrepreneurship skills.
M3. To impart knowledge to make the students ready for higher studies in their respective
field.
M4. To strengthen bonding with Electronics and its allied industries.

PEOs of the Program
PEO1. To make the students capable to study, design and analyze the electronic circuits and
equipments.
PEO2. To inculcate in students the thirst for life-long learning and guide them to obtain
thorough knowledge in their chosen fields and also, motivate them for higher studies.
PEO3. To prepare students to be able to provide technical solutions for real life problems
that are socially and economically acceptable.

1.4. State the process for defining the Vision and Mission of the Department,

 The Vision and Mission of the department are framed in tune with the Institute Vision
and Mission, after a comprehensive discussion among the faculty members and
stakeholders of the department.
 HSBTE Curriculum requirements, current industry and society needs are also
considered while formulating the vision and mission.
 The PEOs are also finalized based on the similar process as above. Quality education,
professional career, higher education, Innovation and Lifelong learning are the factors
discussed thoroughly while formulating PEOs.
 The Vision, Mission and PEOs are then made public for awareness of all the
stakeholders.
