Phrasal Verbs

Phrasal Verbs are verbs followed by prepositions or adverbs. A Phrasal Verb has a meaning which is
generally different from the meaning of the verb it contains.
List of Phrasal Verbs:

10. Give way Break The old rope gave way while the heavy box was being
lifted.
11. Go through Examine I should go through the papers carefully.
12. Look after Take care of I looked after my younger brother when my mother
was not at home.
13. Look up Search for Look up the word in the dictionary.
14. Look forward to Expect with The old man looks forward to the visit of his
pleasure grandchildren.
15. Look up to Respect He looks up to his father.
16. Make out Discover I cannot make out the meaning of the verse.
17. Put up with Tolerate I cannot put up with his rude behaviour.
