Abstract—In this thesis, we have proposed a low profile slot-type two port MIMO antenna for rectangular

and a square shaped mobile devices. The two orthogonal current modes are excited by locating the slot on
the corner of the ground planes. A 90° phase difference has been achieved by the appropriate lengths of the
slots. The MIMO antennas are located on the corners of the same side of the ground plane. In case of the
square geometry, the mutual coupling has achieved by increasing the distance between the two antenna
elements.
