NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE CONDUCT OF NSED 2019
FIRST QUARTER

Title of Activity : Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill 2019 (First Quarter)

Venue : Malamba Elementary School
Date Conducted : February 21, 2019

The conduct of the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) for the First
Quarter in our school was successfully done. Prior to the said drill, an orientation was
conducted to the teachers, parents and pupils of Malamba Elementary School by the
School DRRM Coordinator.
The school, headed by Mrs. Melba A. Robrigado, assures coordination with the
Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Team. The school organized its own
Disaster Action Team with the presence of our P.T.A Officers and some parents who
voluntarily appoint themselves to participate in the Earthquake Drill.
The drill started at exactly 9:20 in the morning with 197 participants. Each grade
level performed the drop, cover and hold position while they hear the siren ringing.
After those series of aftershocks, the pupils and school personnel evacuate into the
open field and immediately counted the number of learners. All the advisers reported
the data to the Communication Officer, while the Security and members of the Search
and Rescue Team checked each classroom for possible victims. There are three (3)
victims found: 1 victim from the Grade 5 classroom, and 2 victims from the Grade 4
classroom. The identified victims were immediately applied with first aid.
The drill ended at exactly 9:38 with a peer and overall evaluation from the DAT
Members. The school DRRM plans to improve more areas in the conduct of the drill.
During the activity, no untoward incidents happened.
