II. Narrative Report:

By virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 115-A, s. 1966 the month of March was
declared as Fire Prevention Month due to the increase in fire incidents during this period. In
consonance to this, the Schools Division of Tarlac Province issued Division Memorandum No.
63 S 2022 entitled Observance of Fire Prevention Month 2022 which aims to promote safety
consciousness and knowledge about fire prevention to keep people from fire incidents. This year
theme is “Sa Pag- iwas sa Sunog, Hindi ka Nag-iisa!”
In support of Bureau and Fire Protection and DepEd’s thrust to promote fire safety in
schools, Sta. Rosa National High School organized a joint Clean – up Drive activity in
cooperation with the Supreme Student Government, posted Infographic Tarpaulin promoting
Fire Safety and Awareness, and School Watching and Hazard Mapping with the Local Municipal
Disaster Risk Reduction Management Team, these activities are in line with the school’s Project
I AM SAFE (Intensify And Maintain a Safe And Hazard-Free School Environment).
The activities aim to eliminate the cause of the fire and prevent the loss of life and
property by fire. It provides learners, teachers, and stakeholders with information and guidelines
that will assist them in recognizing, reporting, and controlling fire hazards
The proponent of this project was Maám Juna Corazon G. Poblacio, SDRRM
Coordinator, the participants of this project were the school staff together with the school head,
Mr. Job DG. Lucero, the student-leaders (SSG officers, RCY officers, BSP officers, YES-O
officers, and BKD officers) of Sta. Rosa National High School and the local Municipal Disaster
Risk Reduction Officers of Concepcion. In this project/activity, student-leaders, teachers as well
as stakeholders will have an opportunity to be aware of fire safety and prevention, reduce the risk
of fire outbreaks and establish safe and hazard-free learning.
The SRNHS – SDRRM Team gathered themselves on February 28, 2022, and conducted
a planning meeting for a series of activities to be attended and executed comes month of March.

On March 02, 2022, at exactly 8 A.M. in the school quadrangle SDRRM Team, student
leaders, and faculty staff conducted Flag Ceremony. After, the proponent together with the
School Head, Mr. Job DG. Lucero launched the beginning of the Fire Prevention Month
Activities. The SSG Adviser, Maám Mary Anne B. Santos oriented student-leaders in the
cleaning materials and their specific areas, rooms they need to clean, and safety protocols. They
cleaned in their specific areas and rooms full of energy. After they cleaned the areas and rooms,
Sir Job D. Lucero-School Head and the proponent evaluated the areas and rooms, and it was
completed tidy and cleaned.
Last March 10, 2022, held a National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill in which the
SRNHS participated actively. Through this activity drill, students and personnel will gain more
information about the common hazard of earthquakes, and that is fire. The proponent together
with the Faculty President Mr. Dennis Robles tracked and monitored the expired fire
extinguishers and contacted a licensed outlet for the refill of the two fire extinguishers. These are
relevant for the safety precautions of the school especially since we are encouraging the learners
and parents to take their part in the progressive expansion of the limited face-to-face classes. On
the same day, Maám Poblacio submitted the necessary report on the tracking and monitoring of
the fire extinguishers via google form in the Schools Division of Tarlac Province.
The final Fire Prevention Activity for the month of March is the School Watching and
Hazard Mapping which happened last March 21, 2022, and was conducted by the Local
Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Team of Concepcion headed by Mr. Ronald M.
Bautista, LDRRMO V through Maám Maine Lacsama.
They shared information about the different Natural Calamities that the Municipality of
Concepcion is commonly experiencing. They also focused on the proper instructions of the Do’s
and Don’t’s in the Earthquake Drill. After a while, the team together with the School Head, The
SSG Adviser, and the SDRRM team mapped the whole school vicinity for the common hazards
when a fire occurs.
The activity was a success and the LDRRM Team promised to donate a hazard vicinity
map to the SRNHS. They also gave us a few recommendations about school watching and
hazard mapping and we ended the day by picture taking.

Certainly, the Fire Prevention Month Activity was effectively completed with the genuine
interest and cooperation of the students, teachers, and stakeholders.
