Venkateshwara Open University is an international seat of higher learning and non-profit foundation. The dreamer, our
founder Chancellor, Sh. Sudhir Giri is a man of passion and commitment, he vowed to achieve something special in the
field of higher education for the benefit of the youth from poor financial background and unreached remote areas. Sh. Giri
is a young dynamic entrepreneur who has been bestowed with prestigious awards namely “R.N. Tagore Award” in the year
2003 and “UP Ratna Award” in the year 2010, by The Government of Uttar Pradesh, in recognition of his distinguished
passionate service to the society. His guiding force is to bring people together by removing the evil of hatred, spreading
love and happiness, building esteem of high morals, National Character and to extend quality education services to all to
make the dream of “(International Brotherhood) come true. Venkateshwara Open University as a whole provides mentored
educational experience to the learners at doctoral, post-graduate and graduate levels to imbibe social changes in the
communities around India and the world.

Venkateshwara Open University is established through Arunachal Pradesh State Legislative Act, LAW/LEGN-10/2012,
Arunachal Pradesh (Act No.10 of 2012), VOU has vital and rich experience in the field of Education including Open and
Distance Education.
Venkateshwara Open University is empowered to award degrees as specified by the University Grants Commission
(UGC) under section 22 of the UGC Act 1956.

Chancellor’s Message
Indians are brilliant people but most of them never get an opportunity to have proper and quality
education to discover their talents and develop them for the society and human kind at large. I
have always had the dream to develop a high standard, value oriented quality education centre
where everyone may get equal opportunity to get educated in a real sense. I had a desire that
there should be a system of education where students will neither be deprived nor categorized
on the basis of economic status, family education or urban/ rural background. If someone has
developed complex or negative mindset due to adverse environment and childhood upbringing,
he/she should be helped to develop him / herself to be an equal partner in education program
and later in life.
I am happy that we have been able to create such facility and build an Open School for learning
of global standards in the name of VOU “Venkateshwara Open University”.

VENKATESHWARA OPEN UNIVERSITY
EXAMINATION PATTERN
Examination is important element in assessment of academic value addition. To make assessment more
comprehensive and credible the examination pattern has been developed.
Breakup of Marks and Weightage:
 Each course final assessment will be of total 100 Marks.

 External examination will carry weightage of 70% and internal assignment will be for 30%.
 External examination will be of 100 marks based on entire syllabus for course. It will be converted
to 70% weightage.
 Internal assignments will be of 100 marks based on the entire syllabus for the course. It will be
converted to 30% weightage.
Details of Assessment:
Internal Assessment
• Assignment will be objective type of assignment which will have 60 questions for 60 marks. It is to
be solved online using LMS within one hour. Evaluation of objective type questions will be done by
computer on the basis of choice of options.
• Total the assignment will be converted to 30%.
External Assessment
• External objective type of examination will be done at the Examination Centres.

• Question paper of 50 Objective types of randomly generated questions from question bank to be
solved in 1 hour duration and will be considered for 100 marks and will be converted to 70%.
Passing Criteria:
For passing a component it is essential to obtain minimum 40% marks in each component. However, unless
otherwise specified the aggregate pass percentage is 40.
Re-evaluation:
There is no scheme of re-totalling or re-evaluation of examination answer scripts, assignments and projects.
Marks once given are final.
Eligibility and Registration for external examination:
In order to appear for examination students are required to submit online examination registration form
which will be made available on the university websites. Students are eligible for examination only after:
 Completion of minimum required duration for the programme / semester as per the university

 Submission of completed internal assessment on LMS is mandatory. Examination form will not be
accepted if internal assignments are not submitted or not completed before filling examination
form.
 Successful submission of examination form which will be available on students corner section on the
university web site.
 Payment of applicable programme fee till the time of examination.
 Payment of applicable examination fees for backlogs.
 Only students with confirm admission are eligible. Others in case of admission is not confirmed are
required to complete pending formalities like incomplete documents, fees etc. before examination
and get admission confirmed in order to be eligible.
 There has to be a gap of six months between two fresh semester appearances, however backlogs
can be attempted along with the fresh semester attempt in consequent examination cycle.
Examination Schedule:
 End semester examination will be conducted 2 times in a year in the month of July and January for
newly admitted students.
 Result of each examination cycle will be declared within 90 days from the last date of examination.
 Students can check their examination results on “Myaccount” section accessible on the university
website.
 In case of any error in result declared, student has to inform in writing / email to Examination
Department through student support services within 15 days.
Degree Certificate:
 Student who has cleared all the applicable examinations and assignments will get consolidated
Marksheet and Certificate within 90 days from the date of application and Rs. 1000/- received from
the student.

 Students who availed the installment scheme should give the PDC along with the initial payment to
Venkateshwara Open University
 UTS will collect the PDC and deposit in bank account on monthly basis
 The admission will be confirm only on receipt of full PDC’s along with the initial payment
 On confirmation of Receipt of Fees the Student details will be punched in ERP.
Rules for Refund:
 After admission form along with the documents is submitted to the university a student cannot
claim full refund of the fees paid by him as a legal right.
 Refund cases can only be considered in genuine cases if application is submitted in hard copy
immediately within 15 days for forwarding in the university. The refund will be given after
deducting the administrative charges as decided by the university. No application will be considered
for refund if submitted after 15 days.
 Change of programme or specialisation is subject to payment through DD of the prescribed fee
along with the application by the student stating the reasons for the change. The university has
right to reject the request stating the reasons for rejections. In case permission is granted the paid
amount will be adjusted in the fee of the new programme. However, the difference if any will have
to be paid by the student.
 If any one of the document submitted by the student is found fake the fee paid by the student will
not be refunded.
