BULLYING

A Synthesis
Studies defines bullying as an unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children

that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. It is categorized into three specified areas;

physical bullying involves hurting a person’s body or possessions it may be kicking, tripping,

pushing, or anything that involves body contact, verbal bullying is about writing or saying mean

things it can be name-calling, teasing, taunting, etc., social bullying (sometimes called as relational

bullying) includes spreading false rumors about someone, embarrassing someone in public, or

anything that involves hurting someone’s reputation and relationships, and lastly the most

distinguished type is the cyberbullying it is a bullying that takes place on the internet or social

media, it needs too much attention because of its unique concerns—persistence, permanence and

not easy to notice.

There are many laws and sanctions applicable to these matters, too many to mention but

we must always know that the Philippine Justice System are always ready to attend with every

citizen experiencing certain act of violence. Since it is often experienced in schools the DepEd

(Department of Education), implemented an order 3 years ago it involves the agreed consequences

to the students who failed to obey the said ordinance, it may include many forms of community

service, suspension, expulsion, etc.

If you are a victim, bullying is something you cannot stop by any means easily only the

bully has the power to end it effortlessly but as a person you have the freedom of choice you just

need to be strong and seek help from someone you trust it will be better if he/she is older than you.

Always remember that no one shall overestimate or belittle you aside from yourself, know where

you stand, fight for yourself, fight bullying!
