AP Course and Exam
Description Binder

As part of the new resources and processes coming to AP® in the 2019-20 school year, we’ve revised the
course and exam descriptions for most AP courses. The updated course and exam descriptions more
clearly outline the content and skills that will be taught in the course and assessed on the AP Exam.

Within the course and exam descriptions, teachers will find unit guides that have:

§ An outline of the content and skills covered on the exam;

§ A suggested pacing and sequencing to plan courses and instruction; and

§ Unit weighting aligned to the exam to help focus instruction throughout the year.

And, for the first time ever, customizable course and exam description binders are available to all
teachers of Course Audit-authorized courses—for free.

What You Need to Know

§ You can access binders for most* AP courses. If you teach more than one AP subject, you can order
more than one free binder.

§ You can have binders shipped to your home or school address—it’s your choice.**

§ You can place your order online through January 31, 2020.

§ You can download PDFs of the course and exam descriptions beginning on May 20, 2019.

If you’re a new AP teacher, you can order a binder once you complete the Course Audit Form beginning
in May. Delivery takes approximately four weeks, depending on demand.
