Volleyball Timer Open Field

PROCEDURE

1. Have the class come in their PE attire and rubber shoes. Go out in the field/ court where there is
open space.
2. Divide the class equally into two teams. Select which team throws (the throwers) and which
team dodges (the dodgers).
3. The team designated as throwers will form a circle around the playing area with a space of two
arm lengths between each other. All dodgers are only allowed to move within that space.
4. Throwers are given one minutes per round to ‘Hit” the dodgers. Some modifications to the
game rules of Dodge Ball are:
a. A hit is only successful if the torso of the player is hit.
b. Hits on the head, face, arms and legs are invalid.
c. At the end of one minute, the round ends whether the dodgers are all “out” or not.

5. The dodgers and throwers the switch the roles.

6. The team with the most time to spare under one minute, or with the most numbered of hits
under 1 minute, wins the round.
7. After the end of the round, the throwers then position themselves again in the circle, this time
at one arm length between each member and the game repeats. Repeat another round, with
the distance between each member reduced to elbow length.
