 1. Definition of Art Exhibition

Art exhibition is an activity out by artist for showing his work to the public. The
definition of exhibition is an activity study of fine art for communicated so that it can be
delivered and valued by the outside community. Argument from mister Myears, B (1985). In
his book “How To Look At Art” Exhibition as one activities involving one space, usually
gallery or council and showcase the result work of art such as painting, prints, statues,
photograpic images and work ready. There is two kinds of work that is homogeneous and
heterogeneous, homogeneous exhibition is an exhibition that show of a kind the example is
painting and then if heterogeneous exhibition is an exhibition that shof off a not the same
kind, example is craft exhibition ( mat craft ). The example from my place in pedamaran is
mat, mat made of purun that is decorated, and the example in palembang is childrens painting
exhibition at graha jakabaring culture park in palembang.

Purpose of Art Exhibition is :

1. Social goals, is activities the exhibition which was held extensively to community or
not widly, like a school and also help people like after displaying the work, the
proceeds from the sale of the work are donated to people in need.
2. Commercial goals of the exhibition relating to profit making activities or provit
especially for artist. Usually artist can sell their work to art fans.
3. Humanity goals, exhibition activities created are for the interest. Of preservation and
development of works of art culture owned by the comunity and also media
appreciation for the community of the work artist.

Type of exhibition :

1. Permanent exhibition
2. Special exhibition
3. Temporary exhibition
4. Exhibition of cooperation
5. Moving exhibition
6. Solo exhibition/join exhibition

Characteristics of exhibition :

1. It should be done with regard to special event that apply in something place
2. Have a theme and attract attention
3. Exhibits must be exhibited clear, simple, and easy to understand
4. The structure must be sistematic and well organized
5. The use of the number of object is not too litle and excessive
6. The arranged room can attract interest a visitor
7. Using decoration from materials related to the work of the exhibition

Exhibition therm :

1. Make a draft in writing about the preparation to be held

 2. In the proposal must have theme, implementation objective, implementation, budget,
and several other factors that need to be taken heavily, namely the work exhibition,
the exhibition community, facilities and infrastructure.

Art exhibition organization is organizing an exhibition is usually carried out by an

organization. This is to regulate the working echanism effectively. The organizational
structure can be added or subtracted according to the circumtances.
