ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas penurunan kadar glukosa dari
ekstrak etil asetat dan metanol daun sukun (Artocarpus altilis (Park.) Fosberg) secara in vitro
dan mengetahui korelasi antara aktivitas penurunan kadar glukosa dengan kadar flavonoid total
daun sukun. Daun sukun diekstraksi dengan metode maserasi bertingkat, menggunakan pelarut
dengan tingkat kepolaran yang berbeda yaitu pelarut polar (n-heksan), pelarut semi polar (etil
asetat) dan pelarut polar (metanol). Uji aktivitas penurunan kadar glukosa dilakukan secara in
vitro dengan menggunakan metode Nelson Somogyi sedangkan penetapan kadar flavonoid
dilakukan menggunakan pembanding kuersetin. Nilai penurunan 50% kadar glukosa dari
ekstrak etil asetat sebesar 36,1114 ppm dan ekstrak metanol sebesar 39,448 ppm. Kadar
flavonoid total ekstrak etil asetat sebesar 0,5554% dan ekstrak metanol 0,3727%. Hasil uji
korelasi menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan yg nyata antara penurunan kadar glukosa dengan
kadar flavonoid.

ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the decreased activity glucose levels of ethyl acetate and
methanol extracts of the leaves of breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis (Park.) Fosberg) in vitro and to
determine the correlation between activity decreased glucose levels with a total flavonoid
content of the leaves of breadfruit. Breadfruit leaves extracted by maceration method multilevel,
using solvents with different polarity level which is a non polar solvent (n-hexane), semi-polar
solvents (ethyl acetate) and polar solvent (methanol). The decrease in the activity of glucose test
performed in vitro using the method of Somogyi Nelson while the assay was performed using a
comparison of quercetin flavonoid. The value decrease 50% in glucose levels ethyl acetate
extract was 36.1114 ppm and methanol extracts was 39.448 ppm. The total flavonoid content of
ethyl acetate extract was 0.5554% and 0.3727% methanol extract. The test results indicate that
there is a significant correlation between glucose levels decrease with flavonoids concentration.
