TEE BEAM BRIDGE”

ID No : 2018H1430036H
Student Name : Jhaveri Ronak Kirtikumar

ABSTRACT
A Bridge is a Structure Providing Passage over an Obstacle without closing the way
beneath. The Required Passage may be for a Roadways, Railways, Pedestrians,
Canals, Valleys etc. In the world, Many of the Bridges have been failed due to
various reasons. But mostly, Bridge Failure occurs due to Improper Design.
Therefore, Proper Designing is required to avoid the Failures of Bridge. In this
Project, we are going to Design a Deck Slab and RCC Tee Beam Bridge in an
appropriate manner. We’ll refer Standard Code Books, Standard Procedures as well
as Various Research Papers to make a Design in an appropriate manner. The Bridge
will be designed for all the components like Deck, Girders, Bearings, Piers,
Abutments, Crash Barrier, Footpath and so on. Each Component of Bridge will be
intended based on the Configuration by IRC Loadings (Worst Case). These
Components will be Designed based on IRC Loadings and later on, it is being
examined with the authentic loadings. Analysis and Design of Bridge will be done
by both Manually as well as by STAAD-PRO/MIDAS Software and will compare the
Results.

METHODOLOGY
A) Analyse and Design the Transverse-Deck-Slab and its Cantilever Portions.
B) Compute the Dead Load and Live Load Bending Moments at each critical section.
C) In order to Determine the Maximum and Minimum Live Load Effects that a particular
Longitudinal can receive, carry out the Transverse Load Distribution for Live Load placed in
various Lanes.
D) Study the Courbon's Method, Little and Morice's method, Hendry and Jaeger methods.
E) Design against Bending of critical sections in Reinforced Concrete
F) Work out Dead load and Live Load Shear Forces at each critical section in the Longitudinal
of the Deck and Design the Sections and Reinforcements for effects of Torsion and Shear, if
required.
G) The Design of the Superstructure is done by the Working Stress Method and involves the
following procedure: 1) Deck Slab Design 2) Design of Longitudinal Girders and Cross Girders.
3) Design of other Components like Pier, Abutments, Crash Barrier etc.
H) Proceed with the Same Problem Statement in STAAD-PRO/MIDAS. Analyze and Design it
by using the Software and finally come up with fruitful result.
