1. Describe the uses of a charge controller.

Charge controllers are use to regulate the charging of battery. It is basically an electric device
which transform the Direct current volts and amperes in the required format of a volts. It
controls the overheating and Charging of a battery. So, directly or Indirectly it is expanding a life
of the battery. Charge controller are managing and making a limitations of maximum power
supply to the load.

2. Identify a component that can connect to a charge controller.

There are different kind of devices used such as Input Devices and Output Components

Input Components: - Output Components: -

1)Wires 1)Inverter
2) Disconnect Equipment’s 2)Battery System
3) Combiner Box 3) some devices to save from over current

3. Describe the operating limitations of charging controller.

There are different kind of limitations for charging controller: -
1)First and foremost, operating system is limited to type of module
2) Battery capacity is also creating a limitation to a Charge controller
3) Radiations

4. Describe MPPT and Its advantages

MPPT: - Maximum Power Point Tracking Charge Controllers

- It is a kind of controller which tracks the power to get highest power point.
- Generally, Standlone charge controllers is a major kind of MPPT. It is utilizing a special system
with algorithms to achieve higher power Transfer.
- To, describe about this charge controllers, we are using an I-V curve where the solar panels
are generating maximum power output.
o Where (I = Current) and (V = Voltage)

There are numerous pros of this such as,

1) First of all, this is highly efficient during the hazy days, in cloudy days and during the cold
season.
2) It can extract extra voltage and current when there is a problem of battery discharging
3) To get more efficiency during cold season it is utilizing Maximum Power Point Charge Controller
to achieve more output of power.

5. Describe how the CEC relates to the charge controller as being continues duty.

CEC:- Canadian Electrical Code

CEC has given a lot of Rules and regulations for different kind of work with different devices,

However, CEC described that for the charge controller where the load is connected to it as an
input, it must be in designated matter such as not exceed the limit and load is not less than the
power which is rated for it.

6. Describe the relationship between the charge controller and an inverter.

Charge Controller: - Charge controller is a device which is generally regulates the current and
voltage from overcharging of battery.

Inverter: - It is device which converts DC power to AC power.

Basically, Charge controller generates a DC voltage as an output. However, we need an AC power

to run the appliances. So, Inverter is connected with Charge controller to convert the DC power
supply into AC power in acceptable manner.
