One of the best ways to express people’s solidarity and morality in the

modern life is volunteer work.

WHAT IS VOLUNTEER WORK?
Volunteer work is an action from a person or a corporate willing to do
in order to help other people who are in unfortunate situations based
on love and humanity.
In Vietnam, volunteer work has existed since the beginning of the
country, because we Vietnamese have a tradition of “the leaves protect
tattered ones”. Or “tương thân tương ái” in vietnamese.
HOW MANY KINDS OF VOLUNTEER WORKS ARE THERE?
Volunteer work includes donating, Sanitation; Healthcare, universal
education, cultural development; Care for families of war invalids,
fallen heroes, policy families, children and teenagers; Hunger
elimination, poverty reduction, universalization of Informatics and
Internet, Strengthening, and protecting the environment.
WHY DO PEOPLE DO VOLUNTEER WORK?
Volunteer work, as some might say, is a win-win situation
People do volunteer work because it is important for them to help a
cause, lend a helping hand or support an organization in need. There is
so much to get out of it. For one, it never feels bad to volunteer.
Volunteering, doing something selfless for someone else, evokes this
feeling of well-being and satisfaction. While the main motivation
usually isn’t to feel good, it certainly has that effect. It’s very refreshing
to volunteer, to maybe spend time talking to elderly people at a nursing
or retirement home. You make them feel better, and give them
affection and attention – since, after all, one’s time is the most
important thing one can give another – and it makes that person
volunteering to feel better as well. Volunteering benefits a person for
another very important reason, too: it helps the volunteer forget about
their own problems for a while because they have to concentrate on
somebody else’s problems. It’s very refreshing, the act of volunteering.
THE BENEFITS OF VOLUNTEERING.
Firstly, Volunteering is a great opportunity for people to find their own
strength and develop new skills. Planning for a donation campaign
helps them develop the ability to manage their finances. Training and
guiding other volunteers help them develop pedagogical skills.
Secondly, Volunteer work makes positive impact on the lives of the less
fortunate ones and connects people from different backgrounds closer
together. Last but not least, voluteering reflexes the picture of them
and is a real example of their enthusiasm, persistence and interests.
