1. News Section - the front page of campus paper. The title of the most
important news is printed in big bold letters.

a. Flag - campus paper’s name


b. Folio - the date, volume, issue number, school year when the campus
paper was released
c. Headline - the title given to the news
d. Byline - a line the newspaper naming the writer of an article
e. Lead - the first paragraph of the news story. This has all the Ws (what,
when, where, who) and H (how) question in it
f. Body - the full detail of the news story
g. Photo and caption - the picture of the news and its caption alongside the
picture telling something about it
h. Columns - the vertical blocks which a page of the newspaper is divided
i. Teaser - visuals with the text above the flag that highlight articles inside
the newspaper

2. Editorial Section - campus paper’s official stance on specific issues and


can cover politics as well as social or cultural issues.

a. Editorial Cartoons - the illustrations draw by the Cartoonist that focuses


either on politics, economic, social, and cultural issues
b. Editorial Columns - individual opinions from the writers called Columnist.
It is more about their personal views on events or situations rather than
factual news
c. Editorial Liner - short statement or quotations
d. Letters to the Editor - opinions and responses from the readers upon the
specific issue

3. Feature page - where the latest stories that happened inside the campus
are written.

4. Literary page - the collection of literary works of the writers and readers
are written. It could be poems or short stories.

5. Columns - the popular or trending topics in a specific section are written.


It could be sports, comics, games, religion, fashion, leisure or lifestyle.
6. Review - the articles about the student-related services inside the
campus. It could be the relevancy of the certain textbooks, or food in the
cafeteria/canteen.
