Comparison and Contrast of the four given video clip topics. And the language and manner
of delivery used

Four video clips were compared and contrasted. The four clips consist a presidential speech, an article from
the constitution, a prayer and an announcement from the Department of Education. On the Presidential Speech I
used Donald Trump’s speech announcing his plan on running as a President in Unites States of America in 2016.
The used the Pidgin type of language and it also shows that he delivered the speech with a manuscript. He also
delivered his message with a manuscript type of speaking. Why? Clearly because it seemed that while talking, he
looks down on his hands, showing that he has some kind of notes in his hand. While on the other hand, on the
article of the Philippine Constitution of Article II in 1987, is considered as an extemporaneous speaking because
the speaker delivered the message very clear. It was presented with a careful and rehearsed type of speaking.
Furthermore, Extemporaneous speaking defines as the presentation of a carefully planned and rehearsed speech,
spoken in a conversational manner using brief notes.

A prayer however is an example of impromptu speaking. A prayer doesn’t actually need to be rehearsed or
be planned carefully like the extemporaneous way of speaking. Impromptu means “the presentation of a short
message without advance preparation”. Lastly, an announcement from the Department of Education is a type of
memorized speaking, in my opinion. Most of the time, a public announcement from the government which was
announced in a television or even in the social media is spoken with commitment on the memorization of the
information. Memorized speaking is the rote recitation of a written message that the speaker has committed to
memory. Memorized speech is the act of memorizing the information in a speech and presenting it without using
notes. Concluding the comparison of each topics, I found out that on a presidential speech, a manuscript is what’s
often used with the delivery of the message. While on an article about the Constitution of the Philippines, the
message was delivered with an extemporaneous type of speaking because these are the kind of presentation that’s
needed to be planned. On the other hand, a prayer is an impromptu type of speech since it’s not the type of speech
that you plan, it’s spoken with your heart open to the Lord and the Lord wants you to speak soulful and with
profound emotion. Lastly, with the announcement of the Department of Education, the speech is memorized and
said carefully since it’s announced in the whole country and one mistake can mislead and cause a controversy.
