Please ensure that you clearly mark all clothing and soft shoes with your child’s name.
Children regularly access the outdoor area and sometimes change into nursery wellies
(as children are unable to independently access their pegs). Many of the children have
the same size of shoes so it is very difficult to keep track of these if they do not have
their name on them.
Some items have recently gone missing from the cloakroom area. Please have a look and
see if you have mistakenly taken any other child’s belongings and return them to the
nursery. It would be much easier if your child’s clothing is clearly marked as well, as
ensuring that use your child’s own peg.
Could you also have a look and return any nursery clothes that your child may have
borrowed.
Collection of children:
Our recent open evening was a great success and we thoroughly enjoyed chatting to
everyone. We would appreciate it if you could complete and return the attached
questionnaire.
Sound of the moment: We are now looking at the sound ‘B’. The children can be heard discussing
sounds as they come into the nursery and this is great to hear. Please continue to encourage this by helping
your child to identify sounds in their environment ie brown, bears and buttons etc. Please feel free to bring
in any ‘b’ objects for our display.
Autumn: We are currently looking at autumn weather and again are delighted that children are bringing in
leaves and conkers etc. Please continue to encourage your child to bring in items relating to the topics.
Photographs will go on our achievement wall in the corridor.
Thank you to Mrs Nagy for sharing the beautiful pressed leaf pictures with us. The children all thought
they were ‘very pretty’.
‘Freddy’s Teddies’ storyline: We are also looking at forests, woodland animals etc through our storyline.
The children recently planned the role play area around this (see children’s big idea’s book on planning /
learning wall). Look out for more about ‘Freddy’s Teddies’ in the coming weeks. We are sure your
children will enjoy telling you all about the story.
Other: Halloween, Guy Fawkes and Space are themes that will be developed over the coming weeks.
Garage visit:
Our recent garage theme ended with a visit to the local Kwik-fit garage. The children had
a great time looking at how a garage works and spotting all the things they had learned
about. They also enjoyed walking to and from the garage.
Library Day:
We are really enjoying parents coming along on a Thursday during Library time. The library
time allows you to have time with your child at nursery and to choose and enjoy a story with
them.
If you would like to come along please complete the form at the side of the signing in sheet.
