1. METHODOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES:

1.1 Topic:. Comparing people

1.2 Standard: -Can describe with short sentences people, places, objects or facts related
with topics and situations that are familiars.

- Can write a description of an event, a recent trip - real or imagined.

- Can summarize, report and give his/her opinion about accumulated factual information
on familiar routine and non-routine matters within his field with confidence.

1.3 Functional Objectives (Knowing, doing, being):


Common and proper nouns, antonyms, words with -er & -est
Knowing: Discern relations, causes and effects.

Doing: Express their thoughts in a clearly way and coherent.

Being: Learn new information from him/her-self, understand and transmit meanings.

1.4 Materials and Techniques Description: - Board and markers to do the explanations
about the topics.

- Notebooks and pencils to take notes about the different sizes of objects, and
different characteristics of people.

1.1 Method: Content based instruction, based on the method for this week’s class
development, the students are going to do several overviews about the topics previously
worked in class, by doing speaking activities, participating, comparing, writing and
explaining main information during the class.

2. CLASS BEGINNING:

2.1 Class Context description: Short explanations about the topic to be worked with, going out from
the classroom and explaining different aspects involved in different environments, they should
describe people and places.

2.2 Attendance Checking and Warm up: To develop the warm up for the class, the teacher will do
the activity “Look around you race”. The students are asked to write as many different comparatives
and superlatives they are available to do during a specific time (5 minutes) taking into account all the
differences between their partner and them. (10 minutes)

3. CLASS DEVELOPMENT:
3.1 Activity 1: General explanation about the different topics to work during this week. To start the
class, the teacher is going to do a general overview about the most important aspects involving the
use of common and proper nouns in context. In addition, the topics Superlatives and Comparatives,
are going to be explained for the first time during the class, what are the different ways in which they
can compare information provided by an interlocutor. (30 minutes)

Activity 2: “Comparing places”, to develop the second activity, the students are going to be asked to
do several explanations about the different sizes of classrooms and offices around the school, the
main idea of the activity is to let the students be in different environments and do different
comparisons related with objects generally found in their school (50 minutes).

They must try to compare: classrooms, fields, offices, bathrooms, shops and kiosk. By giving
different sizes and heights.

Activity 3: “Describing people”, As a last activity the students are going to do several explanations
about different people seen in videos and pictures. By using the laboratory, the teacher will show the
students different short videos and images of people doing different actions, those related to some
adjectives, jobs and feelings.

The student’s job, is to take notes about all the most important aspects found, describe them and
giving advices to their other partners. They will have to write one superlative and one comparative
sentence for every video or picture they see, based on the different characters possible to find in them.
They must share their information and compare their results with their partner’s jobs. (videos and
images 20 minutes) (Writing sentences 40 minutes) (giving results and comparing information 30
minutes)

3.2 Wrap up: Sharing all the results obtained during the comparisons obtained in 2nd and 3rd
activities.

4. CLASS ENDING: EVALUATION:

4.1 Evaluation (Knowing, doing, being): - To evaluate the present class the most important aspects
to have in mind are the good behavior during the activities done outside the classroom, the permanent
use of English and the clearness of the information took.

- Listening and writing skills will be evaluated during the progression of the 3rd activity, followed by
the appropriacy of the topic.

-Good participation, management of information, vocabulary, speeches and creation of sentences


during the class.

- Explaining relations between people and places in a proper way.

-The students are available to exchange knowledge with their partner, taking into account new
information provided by the teacher and general topics of interest given by their partners.
