Grammar Assessment Day 1

I. Essay Test
Directions: Read the questions and make an essay with Subject verb-
Agreement. Underline the Subject verb-Agreement in your sentences.

1. What do you think it takes to be a good teacher?

 It is not difficult to locate an excellent teacher, but you must know where to
seek one. Good teachers plan ahead of time to achieve their educational
objectives. They plan their strategy every day to ensure maximum
production. Teachers are knowledgeable about a wide range of things,
particularly in their subject area of specialization. The good teacher
continues to enhance their knowledge while providing excellent responses to
their students. Being a good teacher is similar to a friend who assists us in all
of our problems. A good teacher develops a unique and non-traditional
learning process for their students. This allows pupils to learn the subject
more effectively. To put it another way, a good teacher ensures that their
students learn effectively and achieve high grades. Most significantly, being a
good teacher is one who focuses on complete growth rather than just an
academic accomplishment. Then and only then can a learner genuinely
mature. As a result, being a good teacher will recognize the students’ issues
and attempt to address them appropriately. They give students the
impression that they will always have someone to chat or talk to if they are
unable to do so at home or with their friends.

2. What is the difference of teaching inside and classroom and teaching online?
 Teaching inside and classroom involve students and teachers engaging in
real-time, which is one of the key contrasts between online and traditional
training. Online teaching, on the other hand, works at their own pace through
lectures and other training materials. They post queries in online discussion
forums and must wait for a response from a teacher or another student.
Some may believe that the delay in engagement slows learning, yet teachers
can really use it to their advantage. Teachers can invite students to pause the
video and think about the information offered before continuing when
presenting complex subjects in lectures. Students can learn at their own pace,
ensuring that no one is left behind. When transitioning from teaching inside
and classroom to online teaching, it's critical to evaluate the teacher's
position. Rather than delivering knowledge to a big group of students who,
for the most part, sit quietly, an online teacher acts as a facilitator, enabling
students to connect with one another and debate the content. While the
teacher plays an important role in guiding discussions, students are
encouraged to contribute their own ideas and experiences. This method of
instruction can promote independent thinking and deeper engagement with
the content.

3. How will you meet the needs of your Korean student?

 I must know my role as their teacher online and I will ensure that my Korean
student will enjoy or engage in our class so that the traditional classes that
they have in their school will change. I am willing to help them to improve
their learning in English, I must get to know my students to have a good
environment in our class. I must make an effort to know their lives by finding
out what drives, interests, goals, and so on that, they may have. I think it
shows to the Korean students that you care about them and if they get to
know you, they’ll probably not disappoint you because they will begin to care
about you.

4. What do you find most frustrating about teaching?

 Although I’m not yet a teacher, I’ll share my most frustrating experience
when I am a student teacher back in college. I got so frustrated if my students
did not answer me while I’m asking them, especially if my cooperating
teacher did not join in our google meet class. I was frustrated if they don’t
understand what I discussed about their lesson. And the most frustrating
experience was when all their cameras are off, I did not know if they are
listening or not, but one of my students back then accidentally turn on the
camera and we saw that he was sleeping while listening in my discussion. To
deal with it I set a rule for all classes that they need to turn on their cameras
when we will have a google meet class.

5. What do you like best about teaching?

 Being a teacher is one of the hardest and enjoyable employment. You not
only get to choose which field you want to teach in based on your interests,
but you also get to meet new people every day. The unique aspect of a
teaching profession is that each day is different. It's not like typical office
jobs, where you sit and complete the same tasks over and over again. You get
to interact with your pupils, meet amazing minds, and meet fascinating
individuals while you teach. Being a future primary school teacher is an
excellent choice if you enjoy working with children. Furthermore, instructors
have a significant impact on society. They educate young people to become
productive members of society, as well as children who may one day become
the country's future leaders. It's a very fulfilling career to watch your pupils
mature and develop as individuals. In practice, teaching is in high demand,
with countless employment opportunities available not just in the United
States, but also around the world.
