EPISODE 5

Participate and Assist

1.Bulletin Board Display

To assist my mentor in creating a conducive learning environment, I'll provide pertinent advice and
opinions about the subjects and some significant issues pertaining to students' learning.

2. Small Group Discussion

I will ask permission that I can initiate to lead this activity. I will prepare the needed materials and allow
students to think and share their ideas to the class.

3. Checking class attendance in a virtual classroom (i.e. google meet or zoom) .

To lessen the work of my mentor, I will ask permission to cheek the attendance of the class.

NOTICE Learning Environment 1:

● What have you noticed of the display in the class bulletin board? What message or theme does it
convey?

I noticed that the bulletin board display the class schedule and other important information. A
classroom schedule can help children learn engagement, grasp expectations for what will happen next,
and reduce behavior issues.

What makes it attractive to the learners?

Because it is written in big letters, has brilliant colors, and can be seen far away, it captures students'
attention. I like it because it inspires kids to learn and have fun with engaging activities.

Does it help in the learning process? How?

Yes. Aside from the attractiveness of the displays on the bulletin board, they are also informative and
can help guide students. It also showcases the student’s achievements, in which case they will be more
motivated to learn, and other students who have not yet achieved anything will be challenged and try
their best to achieve something.

Learning Environment 2:

● If the teacher is using a distance delivery of learning through the modules, where is most likely the
learning space of the students?
Most likely in their homes where their parents can help assist them or another comfortable place where
they can focus and can’t be distracted.

Can you describe?

Learning is much more effective if the environment is comfortable and the home is suitable for it.
Children can have a comfortable place at home where they can focus and get assistance from their
parents and other knowledgeable members of the family. By doing this, distance delivery of learning
cannot hinder the children's learning

● How can you as a teacher help to make such environment conducive for learning?

As a future teacher, the first thing that I will do is conduct a meeting with the parents to discuss
important things for their child’s learning. The main topic to tackle is the learning materials needed by
the students (gadgets) to ensure a meaningful and effective teaching-learning process. If the parents are
unable to provide this, I can help them by raising this concern with the local government.

Analyze

As a teacher, in which of the two situations would you prefer to manage for learning? Choose between
Learning Environment I or Environment 2.

As a teacher, I prefer to manage the learning environment 1. In face-to-face classes, learning is active
and much more effective. The communication is direct and effective, where students and teachers can
have a smooth flow of conversation through questions and answers. It is not hard for students and
teachers to raise concerns, and issues can be addressed quickly. Students are energized and motivated
to see their teacher personally in the class. Also, students love to be given assistance personally by their
teachers. All in all, face-to-face learning fosters an effective teaching-learning process.

REFLECT

A. A fantastic technique to maximize learning and develop students' interpersonal skills in the
classroom is by using display boards.
B. As a teacher, it is my duty to provide the ideal setting for the students to feel and experience a
conducive learning atmosphere.
C. Face-to-face learning is superior to online learning because it gives kids the opportunity to
engage directly in a variety of activities and is a very efficient teaching-learning process.

REFLECT

What solutions can I think of to solve the problem?

As a teacher, I should be committed and flexible. The foremost thing I will do is create a contingency
plan for educational purposes. If plan A doesn’t work, we have a backup plan, plan B, and then visit the
student’s home to talk to their parents regarding the needs and learning difficulties of their children for
me to be aware and help address what needs to be addressed. So, in plan A, I will discuss the concerns
with the school principal and ask for advice and help on how to resolve the problem. And my plan B: If
the school responds slowly and poorly to my request, I will raise the concern with the local government,
especially in the case of a lack of learning resources. Lastly, I will think of a learning style that will fit and
be effective in both learning environments and ask for the help of the students’ parents regarding their
behavior.
PLAN

My plan is to make an action research regarding these learning issues I have stated previously. It's my
responsibility as a teacher to be ready for anything. To meet the requirements of the kids, I must put out
the effort and willingness necessary.

WORK ON MY ARTIFACTS

My Conducive Learning Environment

By: Ailyn R. Progella

A safe, encouraging, and inspiring atmosphere is one that promotes learning for students. It's a place
where students may learn and develop; it's more than just a classroom. It covers the how the teacher
teaches and manages relationships with the students, as well as how the room is set up, furnished, and
maintained. Teaching is most effective when the physical, virtual, and cultural spaces of the classroom
are conducive to both personal and social learning.

The learning environment has a direct impact on student progress. Students' experiences in the
classroom might have a variety of effects. A positive learning environment, for example, can support
students in becoming more engaged, motivated, and proficient learners overall, whereas a poor learning
environment can have the opposite effect. A bad learning environment will make it more difficult for
students to stay interested and remember what they have learned, which could lead to a drop in
student achievement.

As a future teacher I should have and create a positive and ideal learning environment conducive to
learning. I will allow my students to feel comfortable and confident in the knowledge that they are being
taught by me and I want my students feel safe and supported in all aspects of their learning. I believe
that a pleasant learning atmosphere fosters in my students a sense of community, trust in others, and
the confidence to take on challenges, take risks, and ask questions—all of which are essential for
ensuring your learners' success.
