Field Study 2

Participate and Assist

What will you do to assist your mentor in setting up a conducive learning environment in the
following conditions?

1. Bulletin Board Display

I always check the following:
 Topic
 Create a canvas for your bulletin board
 Pick engaging images to feature on the display
 Create a title
 Gather academic information to feature on the bulletin board
 Add elements
2. Small Group Discussion
I would suggest asking students to divide into small groups and democratically discuss a
prompt provided by the instructor. Groups often nominate a member to report highlights
from their discussion to the entire class. Facilitating a highly-structured small-group
discussion may take more planning but may also provide a richer and more inclusive
experience for students.

3. Checking class attendance in a virtual classroom (1.e. google meet or zoom)

We can use now different methods on getting the attendance of the students like Google
form; Google Form is one of the best ways to track student attendance during virtual
classes. You can create an attendance sheet in the google form and distribute it with the
class. The class will self-report the attendance sheet with the timestamp.

Notice

Learning Environment 1:

 What have you noticed of the display in the class bulletin board? What message or theme
does it convey?
It is very attractive, the colors and its design are very appropriate on the color of the wall.
I can say that the bulletin board serve its purpose because it definitely conveyed the
purpose which is to inform the students like the total list of students, cleaners, classroom
officers and many more.
 What makes it attractive to the learners?
The design and its color I think
 Does it help in the learning process? How?

Field Study 2

Yes, they become more creative every time they have activities, it also help them to be
aware and inform on what thing they should know and remember that displays in the
bulletin board.

Leaning Environment 2:

 If the teacher is using a distance delivery of learning through the modules, where is most
likely the learning space of the students?
Google Meet is most likely the learning space of the students
 Can you describe?
It is a type of software application that allows dozens of people like students,
businessman and other organizations to join the same virtual meeting in their most
convenient time. It is also cheaper than the other applications online.
 How can you as a teacher help to make such environment conducive for learning?
I think I can help the students to make such environment conducive for learning by using
virtual software applications, expanding their options and giving them opportunity to
learn either online class or face-to face. We are now in era where we also consider the
relevance of digital.

Analyze

The examples above, describe two contrasting situations. The first show the learners are
in the same room or space while in the second, the learners maybe different learning spaces like
homes, study hubs or in extreme cases parks or under trees.

As a teacher, in which of the two situations would you prefer to manage learning?
Choose between Learning Environment 1 or Learning Environment 2.

Explain your choice: Why?

I think what I will choose is the learning Environment 1 which is the face-to-class set-up
because now I see the difficulty not only of the students but also the teachers how they can teach
the things that should be seen and they experience just the same as laboratory subjects and OJTs.
It is easier for students and teachers because it is easier to observe each other and it will not be
difficult to study.

Reflect

Based on my noticing and analysis, I realized that

a) The situation and the topics above are very now and it’s relevant to know.
b) It affects not just the students but also the teachers.
c) We can expand the learning options of the students.

Write Action Research Prompts

OBSERVE

What probable problem may result from the two situations of the learning environment?

I think the probable problem is that how sure the teacher that his/her students are learned using
this two learning environment.

REFLECT

What solutions can I think of to solve the problem?

Always observe the struggles and progress of every student. Make sure that every quarter, the
students should pass the activity shows that he/she did the task. And to be able to do that, you
need to inform students that they are also need to reflect on how well they are and they plans to
have a good and heathy environment.

PLAN

How should I do it?

First thing you should to be preparing a pre-test and post test to determine the knowledge of the
students before and after the school year or sem. always check their activities and also provide
options on what learnings they want. Always consider their choice and respect it.

Work on my Artifacts

In not less than 300 words, write an essay on the topic: "My Conducive Learning Environment"

"My Conducive Learning Environment"

In education, there are choices that must be made in order for the student to be successful.
One important tool necessary for the student to succeed is a conducive learning environment.
These environments begin in the student's mind at a very young age and are developed through
parents, teachers, staff, and others connected to the school and educational environment. A
positive and a good learning environment are important for student's success as it promotes
academic achievements. Positive learning. However, cannot just happen on its own they must be
created in schools. There are many components that must be considered in schools to create a
positive learning environment for the students Creating a good school will first begin in the
classroom. Teachers in the classroom should create a safer and a positive learning environment.
A positive interaction in the classroom should be created and helps in promoting the students
social and emotional wellbeing inside the classroom. Improved learning environment will foster
effective academic performance. The other important strategy is developing a code of conduct in
school. A code of conduct in school will provide a clear and agreed upon rules on the positive
and negative behaviors that student can follow. The other important strategy in school is
reinforcing on positive behaviors through strengthening and motivating positive and productive
learning in schools. Lastly, teachers and parents in school can help the students by developing
some intrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation will help the students feel good about them and
help them to be productive in schools. (Fraser, 2015). I believe that creating positive
environment is not just creating a colorful and inviting atmosphere it is creating an emotionally
stable, nurturing and constructed atmosphere with respect for students and teachers alike. I feel
Classroom Relationships are an essential part to creating a constructive learning environment and
a Teacher should build up a relationship with his/her students as soon as meeting them should
endeavor to get to know the students example is getting students to fill out a questionnaire about
themselves, likes, dislikes, interests even maybe a personal development sheet. Team Building,
response systems and Interactive Learning should be planned into creating an effective
classroom environment. Encouraging students to interact and to value each other's ideas.
