He said this dance was a sacred guardian dance aimed at repelling reinforcements as a sense of

HISTORY OF BIRTH DANCE LINE RANGE

In the past, there was a man named I Jero Kulit, from Pelilit Hamlet, Pinginutan Village, Nusa Penida
District, Klungkung Regency. I Jero Kulit as an Assistant to the King in the Klungkung Kingdom.

I Jero Kulit was given the task by the King to feed pigs every day. Pork food place is called kempul, one of
the music from the Jangkang Line Dance, whose ingredients come from bronze.

Considering the pig food place is very unique and attractive in terms of its shape, eating I Jero Kulit wants
to sound by hitting the kempul, and it turns out the kempol is making a very powerful and heartwarming
sound. That's when I Jero Kulit wanted to ask the King.
For many years he worked as a helper of the King, so that it gave rise to thoughts, feeling homesick for
his relatives to go home to his birth at Pelilit Hamlet by asking the kempul to be used by the King in
souvenirs. After arriving at Pelilit Hamlet, it turned out that the King granted with a sincere conscience
the request of I Jero Kulit.

I Jero Kulit now goes home, upon arrival in Pelilit Hamlet, I Jero Kulit does not immediately go home, but
stops by the garden. The name of the garden is Bukit Gorge Runut Kempul which was put in Kubu /
Pondok where he was located. Because he was so tired he took shelter and cared for a while, suddenly
the sound of a continuous barrage of kentongan, I Jero Kulit got up listening to the origin of the sound of
the kentongan, apparently came from Banjar Adat Pelilit. I Jero Kulit came to that place, apparently the
Banjar Adat Pelilit people had gathered together to carry weapons to declare war. Kelihan Banjar
declared war on the village next to the hills of the border, I Jero Kulit felt challenged to join the
community without carrying weapons. The people went together to the boundary area, apparently the
enemy was waiting, the boundary area was close to his garden I Jero Kulit. As soon as the war would be
declared to start raging, I Jero Kulit took the kempul by beating repeatedly, the enemy at that time heard
the sound of the kempul which was greatly enlarged from the gift of the King, so the enemy retreated,
because when the sound of the kempul was grass grass was moving in around that, the enemy saw the
weeds like a tumbak ready to attack the enemy. Because of the fear of the enemy, many enemies died
from crashing into trees and their bodies were caught in the branches of trees, so that the victory at that
time was in the case of Pelilit Hamlet residents. While celebrating the victory of the pulmonary
community, talking about the kempul brought by I Jero Kulit is already considered to have high magical
value. The result of the Banjar Adat Pelilit parum will be built a sacred dance, the Baris Jangkang Dance.

Why is it called the Jangkang Line Dance, because during the war, the kempul is sounded, the grasslands
follow the stellar drive out the enemy. Simbul thatch is always tied to the spearhead as a symbol to join
in winning the war, so that up to now the grasslands as an antidote to anyone who joins dance. If there
is a Grand Ceremony at Puri Raja, Baris Jangkang Dance is always called as Sacred Dance.
