INTRODUCTION:

Fourteenth day of internship the trainee was assigned two works on that day. One was to
do the data entry job of the SHG Self Help Group’s survey data and to go to Ashirvathapuram
community for the inspection and to visit Mariyalaya NGO. They are asked to go there by 11:00
am.

PLAN FOR THE DAY:

 Data entry of SHG survey.

 To visit Ashirvathapuram community.
 To visit Mariyalaya NGO.

ACTIVITIES:

At the morning 8:30 the trainee had reported to the psycho-oncology department. He was
assigned to a work of data entry for SHG’s (Self Help Group) survey data. From 9:00 am to till
1:00 pm the trainee did the data entry.

Around 1:15 pm he was sent to have his lunch and asked him to report back to the
department by 1:45 pm. He reported on time and he was assigned to go for Ashirvathapuram for
the inspection with the coordinators Mrs. Usha and Mrs. Jeyalekshmi.

They started toward Ashirvathapuram by 2:00 pm by bus and reached there by 3:00 pm.
They first went for the inspection in petty shops in the Ashirvathapuram. There they found a
shop selling of inhaling snuff tobacco. They warned the shopkeeper not to sell the tobacco
products. The shopkeeper asked apologise and ensured they won’t sell it again.

By 4:00 pm the trainee and the coordinator Mrs. Jeyalakshmi went to the NGO
Mariyalaya which is working for women and children. There the trainee went and met the sister
Viji for getting a date for conducting an awareness programme for the Self-Help Group. The
sister gave 3-4-2019 Wednesday to conduct the awareness programme and screening.

By 5:00 pm the trainee and the coordinators left the spot, and the trainee was said to
disperse to his house back directly from there.

LEARNINGS:

PERSONAL LEARNINGS:

 The trainee learned how slums peoples are living.

 He learned how the tobacco is been sold in a secret manner.

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING:

 The trainee learned to conduct a community organisation.

 Trainee learned to do inspection in the petty shop.

FEEDBACKS & SUGGESTIONS:

 The inspection visit was very interesting and adventures.

 The community visit to Ashisrvathapuram was a great experience to the trainee.
 Suggestion towards the inspection was, the inspection could be more strictly follow
instead of warning the shopkeeper they can given punishment or fines.
