Introduction

Everywhere, Infinite Combinations, Infinite Possibilities

Even as technology provides the means by which people can exchange
and build upon ideas virtually, physical space remains a powerful asset for
organizations looking to foster a human connection to work and colleagues.
By providing intuitive gathering points where meaningful interactions can
take place, tables are a necessary building block for workplaces. Versatile
enough to be used everywhere—hence the name—Everywhere™ Tables
complement any space, with fine lines and a refined aesthetic. From
conference tables for formal meeting areas to coffee tables or standing-
height occasional tables for more informal settings, Everywhere™ Tables
offer boundless flexibility, enabling any activity that requires an inviting and
expansive (or compact) surface.

Whatever the Activity, Wherever the Setting

Studying, working, videoconferencing, lunching—any activity that brings
people together to engage with their work or one another can be centered
around an Everywhere™ Table. The same kit of parts can be used to create a
range of tables with functionality for any need. Choose from a variety of top
shapes and sizes, base styles and heights, and mobility options (including
casters or glides) to create tables to your exact specifications.

Adaptable to Change
With modular and mobile Everywhere™ Tables, a training room can be set
up or rearranged in minutes. Easy-to-use ganging hardware helps keep rows
of tables looking neat. For applications in which power or data access is
required through the work surface, Everywhere™ Tables are compatible with
a variety of Logic Power Access Solutions™ cable management tools and
Connect™ power outlets and data ports.

Use This Planning Guide

This document is intended to assist the user in proper planning of
Everywhere™ Tables.
This is not a Specification guide. Refer to the Everywhere™ Tables Price
Book for complete order and specification information.

SURFACE OPTIONS

Actual Size Of Surfaces

Surfaces in this guide are listed with nominal dimensions (24” wide, 30” wide, 48” wide, etc.). Actual dimensions (both width and depth of surfaces) are ⅛” less than
nominal dimensions. For example, a 24” deep surface is actually 23 ⅞” deep and a 48” wide surface is actually 47 ⅞” wide.

Height
Laminate and veneer surfaces are 1 ¼” thick. Painted Formcoat™ surfaces are 1” thick. The front edge of the eased-and thin-edge surfaces slopes to ½” thick. All

Edge Profiles
Choose from three different edge options:
• Squared-edge offers the most overall application flexibility since they can abut to other surfaces.
• T hin-edge on the user side slopes back 1 ⅞” under the front edge to give the surface a very light aesthetic. Screens and accessory tools will not attach to the thin-
edge portion of the surface.
• E ased-edge on the user side slopes down to support forearms and soften sharp edges. The 3” slope may prohibit or limit some storage pieces from resting on the
surface, and screens and accessory tools will not attach to the eased-edge portion of the surface.

Electrical Distributor Planning

GENERAL RULES

Everywhere™ Tables offer a variety of ways to bring power to a single table and/or a series of table configurations. These include the use of surface clamp or grommet
mounted Logic or Connect electrical distributors. In multiple configurations use the Connect Single Circuit or Connect Modular Power Systems. Below are general rules and
specification examples.

Planning with Logic or Connect Electrical Distributors

T hese electrical distributors connect directly into a floor, wall, or ceiling drop outlet with either a power cord with plug end or a conduit with open end, for a hard-wire
connection. Several cord lengths are available.
Both the Logic and Connect units offer either clamp or grommet mount options.
Logic units have simplex receptacles that alternate orientation, allowing for a greater distance between receptacles to accommodate most plug types.
L ogic units also have a built in USB port option, providing 10-watt power to charge most devices and tablets at full speed. A small LED light illuminates through the USB
port when the USB version is plugged in and powered.
onnect units have simplex receptacles and data openings. A voice/data adapter kit is included, allowing the data openings to accept various manufacturers’ couplers
C
and jacks.
Products are either UL or ETL (to UL962) listed. Tables must be ganged together with the Connect Ganging Kit (Y1338.) to meet UL requirements.
E lectrical distributors must connect directly into a building power source and are not to plug directly into each other. Use the Connect Single Circuit or Connect Modular
Power Systems when connection from unit to unit is needed.

Special Considerations:

Electrical distributors must connect directly into a building power source and are not to plug directly into each other. Use the Connect Single Circuit or Connect Modular Power
Systems when connection from unit to unit is needed.
Tables must be ganged together with the Connect Ganging Kit (Y1338.) to meet UL requirements.
Check local codes for approval and the building power for the number of receptacles per power infeed.

Sinlge Circuit Planning

GENERAL RULES—SINLGE CIRCUIT

Planning with Connect™ Single Circuit Power

The Single Circuit Power draws from an existing circuit; it is very important to know what else is powered off of that circuit (refrigerator, copier, vacuum, etc.) in the same
room or an adjacent room.
Access to electrical above the surface can be supported by leveraging the Connect™ Single Circuit power distributors. Those include:
• Connect™ S720 - Single Circuit Power Unit (Y1372.)
• Connect™ S730 - Single Circuit Power Unit (Y1373.)
• Connect™ S740 - Single Circuit Power Unit (Y1374.)
• Connect™ S750 - Single Circuit Power Unit (Y1375.)
To provide power from the building to the desk, specify Connect™ Single Circuit Electrical Power Entry (Y1377.), separately.
The power entry should be connected to the underside of the first table using included hardware and Conduit Clamps (Y1339.). These are screwed onto the underside of
a surface.
To connect power from one desk to another where more than 60” of cord is needed, specify Connect™ Single Circuit Electrical By-Pass Jumper (Y1378.), separately.
When routing power to an adjacent desk or table, surfaces must be ganged together. Order ganging bracket kit (Y1338.), separately.
Up to eight single circuit modular electrical distributors can be "daisy chained" and connected in any order. This includes a combination of electrical distributors and
jumpers to equal no more than eight.
Single Circuit Power system is a "plug and play" system. All of the units come with the parts necessary to connect into one another.

Modular Power Planning

GENERAL RULES—2 AND 4 CIRCUIT

When multiple tables/desks are used in linear run either the 2- or 4-circuit Dual Receptacle/Junction Block Power Kits could be used for simplicity in planning. The
electrical must be tailored to meet specific requirements beyond the standard kits, individual products can be specified a la carte.
Access to electrical above the surface can be supported by leveraging the Connect power distributors.
Specify the 2- or 4-circuit modular power kits to match the width of the table or desk.
To connect power kits between adjacent desks or tables, order power jumper separately.
Order the 4-circuit duplex receptacle (Y1355.) separately.
To route power from building to power kit, order 2- circuit power entry separately.
• For San Francisco, specify flex metallic conduit option.
When routing power to an adjacent desk or table, surfaces must be ganged together. Order ganging bracket kit (Y1338.) separately.
Method of attachment:
• To attach kit flush to bottom of surface, with receptacles facing down, specify flat attachment to underside of surface option.
• To attach kit perpendicular to bottom of surface, specify short 90° attachment to underside of surface option.
• To attach kit perpendicular to bottom of an Abak® or Sense™ surface, specify long 90° attachment to underside of surface option.
Receptacles/Junction Blocks are located 12” in from the right/left edges to the end of the receptacle/block and 2 ¼” in from the back edge of a desk or table.

Determining Jumper Lengths

Linear Planning:
• Order 24” length jumpers separately to distribute power table-to-table in a linear application.
90° Planning:
• 24” deep desks or tables are used in a 90° configuration and passing the power 90° on the outside radius with the power kit order 42” length jumper.
• When 30” deep desks or tables are used in a 90° configuration and passing the power 90° on the outside radius with the power kit order 48” length jumper.
• hen a combination of 24” and 30” deep desks or tables are used in a 90° configuration and passing the power 90° on the outside radius with the power kit order
W
48” length jumper.
• hen either 24” and 30” deep desks or tables are used in a 90° configuration and passing the power 90° on the inside radius with the power kit (Y1340.) order 30”
W
length jumper.
To support the jumper lengths beneath a table or desk surface, specify conduit clamps (Y1339.), separately.

3 General Purpose + 1 Isolated Circuit

This configuration includes four hot wires that correspond to circuits 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Circuits 1, 2, and 3 are general circuits that share a common neutral and ground.
Circuit 4 is considered an isolated circuit because it has its own grounding source
and wire that is not shared with other equipment. Circuit 4 is also considered
dedicated because it has its own neutral and ground wires.
The purpose of having its own neutral and isolated ground is to prevent unwanted
noise from other devices traveling through the system and potentially causing
interruptions. Circuit 4 is typically reserved for computers. Because Circuit 4 has
its own hot, neutral, and ground wires, it could have a separate source of power
known as a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Source).

For applications that require power 90° to spine run, specify the Connect electrical distributors as an economical solution to bring power out to the returns and to the
surface level. For the main power needs along the back-to-back run of tables or desk, leverage the same planning tips outlined in linear examples one and two.

90° PLANNING—4 CIRCUIT

PRODUCT INFORMATION AND PLANNING – MODULAR POWER

Just like in the linear planning examples where the 4-circuit, double-sided junction block kits are shared in a back-to-back application as an economical solution, the same
planning methodology can be applied to 90° applications.
• T he double-sided junction block kits allow for two connection points at each block location. This design feature allows for the ability to connect two jumpers or a
power entry and a jumper at one point. Also remember when power is passing on an outside radius to the return, a 42” jumper is required with 24” deep surfaces.
• If only 2-circuits are needed at return locations, the transition jumper could be used to bring power from the 4-circuit modular power kits along the main spine run to
the 2-circuit modular power kits at the returns. The specifications would be the same as the examples below but in place of the standard 42” jumper for the outside
90 degree
radius aPlanning
48” transition jumper would be used (Y1356.).
