SUBJECT: Reducing energy consumption in the workpalce

To help make our company go green and conserve energy we have come up with a plan of action
and some options to use as we proceed and continue further with this.

UPDATE ELECTRICAL AND LIGHTING

As for what the company plans on doing, we will be updating the lighting throughout the
building and all electrical work that accompanies it. The lights will be changed to LED’s and
motion sensors will be installed to replace light switches in the restrooms, breakrooms, and
storage areas.
OPPORTUNITY TO TELECOMMUTE
We have been approved to allow our employees to be able to telecommute for work instead of
having to come into the office. There are a couple requirements that are needed but will be worth
it in the long run. First, if an employee is wanting to telecommute, you will need to be with the
company for at least one year. Second, there will be an online training course that you will have
to complete before being allowed to telecommute. Once complete and you receive your
certificate, you will need to have a quiet work space at home that has internet service and you
will log in and out for your work time.

This is just a start to reducing energy in our workplace and we would love to hear if any of you
have any ideas you would like to contribute for our plan of action. Please feel free to stop by my
