Jarret Structures

Douce-Hydro / Jarret Structures’ devices

use special fluids made of
viscous silicon.
Our technology, which has proven to be industrially
successful over the last 50 years, uses the fluids
characteristics to obtain device function

The other day I visited the building and took some
pictures. I must report that in the two stories I walk
around, I inspected the dampers and I observed they
looked pretty good, no leaks.

Regards,
Francisco

CBIST: Cable Brace Isolation System Technology
The CBSIST system represents an innovative
seismic protection strategy, especially attractive for
retrofitting existing reinforced concrete structures.
This technology is based on in-serie coupling
of fluid viscous spring dampers
and prestressed steel cables. The cables go through
the building storeys and exert
reaction forces on the floor-slabs which are in opposite direction to the
earthquake loads.

CBIST: Cable Brace Isolation System Technology
Since each cable makes sliding contact with the slabs, its reaction includes
the damping force component supplied by the fluid viscous device connected
to it. The combination of the cable elasticity and device energy dissipation
gives rise to a highly performing protection system, characterized by lower
architectural intrusion and installation work as compared to traditional
rehabilitation techniques.
With some classical solution, damage will occur (shear walls for example) and
then additive reparation is needed. At the opposite the CBIST system
is designed to keep the structure in the elastic domaine and thus
Allows the immediate occupancy :
NO REPARATION NEEDED AFTER AN EARTHQUAKE
This main advantage defines well the high level
of performance
