Decommissioning Introduction

Decommissioning in the North Sea – Arup (October 2014)

“The analysis focuses on critical supply chain elements which are resources that are
fundamental to delivering decommissioning projects, and which would have the most
significant effect on the deliverability of the these projects if there were
capacity constraints. The critical supply chain elements that have been identified are:

• rigs/rigless abandonment infrastructure

• removal vessels for topsides and substructure
• ports/harbours/yards for recycling
• skilled engineering and operational resources serving all aspects of the sector

These are the areas where the supply chain, operators and Government will need to
work closely to ensure that the opportunities are realised.”

How can ALE focus its experience and equipment to support the industry?
