EQUIPMENT DATA SHEET – SCHEUERLE SPMT

The development of self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT’s) is a major advance in the technology of
moving very large loads. This new generation of heavy transport equipment combines state of the art design with
proven components. The 4 and 6 axle line transporter units can be operated independently or assembled into any
combination.
Individual transporters can be hydraulically and electronically linked to provide a support platform matched to
the characteristics of the load and the route. Programmable, 360-degree electronic steering achieves extremely
accurate load positioning even under arduous site conditions.
The SPMT transport system is an unrivalled method for the safe and effective transport of the largest loads.

Key features of the SPMT system include:

· Hydraulically driven for movement in any direction.
· Multi-axle, high torque drive units, maximising
the tractive effort.
· 25 to 50 percent of all axles driven.
· Multi power modules capable of being interlinked.
· Advance coupling system to reduce rigging time.
· In cab or remote control option.
· Single point control for multi transfer operation.
· 3, 4 or multi suspension.

LINKSPAN BRIDGE SYSTEM Equipment

Abnormal Load Engineering use a Modular Linkspan Bridge

System for load-out and load-in work. All components are designed
for the maximum loads produced by Self Propelled Modular
Transporters (SPMT).

The main components of the system are :-

Steel Dragline Boards. Available in 2.25m, 4.5m and 5.5m

length. Each board is 1.0m wide and fabricated from 5 No.
203 x 203 UC sections welded toe to toe. All boards are
fitted with 2 pad eyes to allow for connection to the Hinge
Angle.

Hinge Angle. Standard 4.0m length and fitted with pad eyes
to connect to any ALE Dragline Board. They are fabricated
from 200 x 200 RSA to allow for fitting either into a quay
rebate or onto a barge deck.

Loadout Operation
Pins. Each Steel Dragline Boards is connected to the Hinge
Angle using 2 No. 50mm diameter steel pins.
Hinge Angle may be either welded to the
barge deck or alternatively, fitted into a quay
rebate. Wedges. These are to provide a transition from the quay or
barge deck onto the linkspan. They are fabricated from
either hardwood or steel and are made of 1.0m sections,
nominally 2.5m long. For steel, the design made of 4.0m
section with 2.0m long.

BALLASTING PUMPS Equipment

A simple but reliable ballast system that gives great flexibility for
achieving successful load-out.

The speed of ballasting operations is enhanced using high speed

ballast pumps thus reducing the critical time periods needed during
load-out.

This type has a high output pumping system to displace water.

A continuous reliable operation and efficiency is achieved due to

the special volute and impeller design.

This provides a smooth, high output flow rate, accommodating a

substantial suction and discharge head.

A close impeller type, heavy duty, single stage, vacuum assisted

and self priming pump with large displacement, specially designed
for strenuous duty.
