Due to the relatively long operational life of the subproject,
decommissioning or closure is not envisioned in the near or medium term (e.g., 25 – 50
years). 1.Decommissioning of the facilities is a remote
possibility since this treatment plant will serve future populations and such facilities are critical for sustaining those areas,
2.residual waste cleanup is not a major concern since the facilities are not industrial manufacturing plants with potential problems for
Abandonment/Decommissioning/Rehabilitation Policies and toxic and hazardous wastes.

Generic Guidelines 3. solid wastes from decommissioning is also not a major concern since the structures are mostly made of reinforced concrete and the
solid wastes are mostly recyclable
materials such as broken concrete materials, reinforcing steel bars used in the structures, structural steel, roofing materials, electrical
wires, etc.
In case decommissioning become an option, the appropriate action plan will be
prepared in compliance with GOP regulatory requirements.
