Skills Analysis

For each section, you must consider what your strengths and weaknesses are based
off the previous few weeks (and anything you may have done prior to the course).

Camerawork I believe that I can capture good shots with my camera work and I
have a good understanding of effective angles. However, I must
ensure my shots are in focus and shoot multiple times so that I have
enough to work with after filming when I am editing. I feel like I
could explore and practice more angles that I have learnt in class
like panning.
Editing I have a good understanding of the basic editing techniques. I
have experimented with different pre-set filters but could manually
try and effect the colours instead of using pre-sets. I can effectively
cut different clips precisely to how I want but would like to learn
more short cuts and where certain functions are in premier pro.
Idea I think so far my ideas have been creative but I need to fit them into
Generation the period of time that I have. Some of my ideas have been too
time consuming that I am not able to create the best production
due to the amount of time spent filming and preparing ideas. I
would like to explore some more positive ideas instead of just
negative.
Analysis I have written two analyses so far. I understand what subjects I am
meant to identify in the movie but am easily distracted by looking
at the bigger picture instead of the smaller details that the director
has created. However, I am able to understand and explain why
the small details have been used and how they are effective.

People So far I have worked in smaller groups of about three people and
Management amongst us we have equally contributed into the production. I
have no problem with participating in a group and quite enjoy it. I
am able to take in other people’s ideas and compromise to make
the best production.
Time Keeping I could work more on my time keeping as I think I spend to long
preparing ideas and filming that I don’t leave myself enough time
to edit my production and upload it onto my website. However ,
before filming we have planned out different sections of filming
time so that we can have it completed and that has worked well.

Improvement To improve, I will stick to strict deadlines to ensure that I have

Plan enough time for the whole production process. I will explore more
editing techniques that require me to manually set them instead of
using pre-sets. I will explore multiple ideas instead of sticking to the
first one I think of and elaborating it. I would like to use more
equipment to try some experimental shots that look professional.
