Course Outline:
This course provides an overview on semiconductor devices and electronic circuits. The first
half of the course covers the semiconductor physics and circuit models of the devices such
as diodes, bipolar junction transistors, and MOSFET transistors. The second half
demonstrates how these models are applied to the design of various circuits, such as basic
analog amplifiers, digital logic gates, memory circuits, and switching power supplies.
Course Textbook:
Fundamentals of Microelectronics, Razavi, 2nd Ed., Wiley 2013 .
Grading:
Two Midterm Exams 40%, Final Exam 20%, Experiments 25%, Homework/Attendance 15%
Policies:
• A student responsible for scholastic dishonesty may be given an F for the entire course.
Additionally, the incident will be reported to the University for disciplinary action.
Examples of scholastic dishonesty include, but are not limited to: copying someone else’s
work, sharing simulation data, sharing or copying assignments with friends, copying from
other sources such as the solution manual, and working on the exam after the exam is
over.
• No late assignments will be accepted.
• Regrade requests or petitions must be made within 1 week of receiving the assignment
or exam sheets
