According to FCC.gov “a new interactive broadband map, which will help the public

and policy-makers understand where there are gaps in delivering fixed broadband and much

more. Available now at https://broadbandmap.fcc.gov, the map will allow people to learn more

about broadband in their areas” One way this technology will help with the digital divide, is

displaying, without manipulation the certain areas where there is a shortage of internet access.

Then we can focus on a plan to get the access better to these areas in need. As a result of using

this mapping device people who are said to have access, but didn’t, gain the access they need.

Another technological advance that can assist in bridging the digital divide is the

affordability of these devises and internet providers’ prices. Every-day we hear how much more

advanced the devises, maybe so should the efficiency of which one makes the devices. If one can

produce certain devise more efficient they can be sold for a cheaper price, and not risk the

companies making their profits. Finally if internet providers’ can offer their services for a bit of a

smaller price, than they would get a larger customer base. Ultimately making similar profits,

with a large customer base and cheaper prices.
