i. Before reading the article/understanding the lesson, I thought that


Actions of a person depend solely on the way he/she thinks in a situation .

However, reading the article/understanding the lesson, I now think/realize
Self and Identity are huge factors that affect the action of a person. They think of it
as a typical behavior based on their identity. Ex: engineers are stereotyped to be good
at math therefore, students who are good at math choose engineering.____.
ii. Before reading the article/understanding the lesson, I thought that
People compare themselves to others only to raise their pride or
ego.__________________________________________________________________.
However, reading the article/understanding the lesson, I now think/realize
People like to compare themselves to successful people and contrast themselves with
unsuccessful people. If they found similarities from another person, they would feel like
they are informed about themselves as the other person speaks or as they get to know
each other._______________________________________________________.
iii. Before reading the article/understanding the lesson, I thought that
Rationality, situation and determination is what motivates a person in pursing a

However, reading the article/understanding the lesson, I now think/realize
Identity can motivate a person in doing actions in order to achieve their goal. Ex: a
poor child who thinks that a good educational background will help them to become
successful would study hard and get good grades.

i. Does getting a firm grasp on a person's own self and identity would affect
on how they go about life? Wouldn't it be only for satisfaction since every
thing will be the same?_________________________________________________
ii. Why does others choose their identity from a stereotype of another person
when stereotyping is bad?______________________________________________
iii. Does identity influence nostalgia? If yes, how?___________________________
