I. Learning Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:


1. Identify the current and future innovation in media and information: wearable technology, 3d
environment, others;
2. demonstrate interest in knowing the current and future trends of Media and Information; and
3. Editorialize the new knowledge they gather and how will they use the information in the daily living.

INTERACTIVE FORUM: Students, in their groupings, will be tasked to create a 2-minute speech that
will show their contrast on the current and future trends of technology.
Group 1: Current and Future technology trends on education
Group 2: Current and future technology trends in household
Group 3: Current and future technology trends in businesses
Group 4: Current and future technology trends in lifestyle

Students will be tasked to brainstorm for only 10 minutes and performance for 2 minutes per group.
Each group will also be asked to take note some salient points of the speech and give their comments
afterwards. Groups that can create questions and additional insights will get an extra point.

b. 2 Analysis
Call on the learners to answer the following questions:

1. How does technology affect our daily lives? Why does it need to improve?
2. What are some tech trends that affect you in your studies? Your personal life? Your daily choirs?
3. How these trends will affect you in the future?

b. 3 Abstraction
From the student’s work, the teacher will discuss more about the following:

1. Ubiquitous Learning - With the modern technology, teachers and students can hold their classes
anytime, anywhere using the internet. Virtual classroom using forum and video conferences.

Generalization
New tech trends are innovated and invented as a response to the growing needs of the people. At
present, gadgets and devices have a variety of uses. Aside from using them to communicate with others
and access information, they are also used for seeking entertainment, assisting medical practitioner, and
diagnosing patients, guiding police enforcers in finding missing persons, etc.

Students will be given 1hr and 30 minutes to do a prototype of their innovation of choice. This
media and technology innovations shall have a direct use and concern with their daily life.

b. 2 Analysis
Call on the learners to answer the following questions:

1. What media innovation affects you directly in many aspects of your life (course / track, lifestyle,
education, etc.)
2. How does prototyping helps learners to their studies?

b. 3 Abstraction
From the students work, the teacher will discuss more about the following:

Prototype - the original model of something from which later forms are developed; an original model on which
something is patterned.

Procedure of prototyping

1. Identify problems or issues that is related to media and information in the Philippines.
2. Among the identified problems, select which you think needed an immediate attention. Brainstorm what
causes the problem and what are the possible ways to solve it.
3. Pair the different groups. Each group will interview the other group to which they are paired with
regarding what issue they want to address, what causes it, and how do they want to solve it.
4. Each group will design a technology tool that will provide the needed solution to the discussed issue or
problem presented to them by the other group.
5. Create a prototype of the technology tool they designed to address the problem presented to them by the
other group.

b. 4 Application
The teacher will call the students one at a time to explain the topic discussed.

Generalization
Prototyping places wherein the original model of something from which later forms are developed. It
helps a person to present the exact work of a particular innovation.
