WEARING PARTS FOR OPTIMUM PRODUCTION ECONOMICS SVEDALA y Svedala Crushing and Screening annually invests millions in the development of new wearing parts and the improvement of our existing range. The aim is to increase crusher performance and to extend liner life, so that our customers achieve optimum produc- tion economics. We see these parts as vital components in the crushing process, not as simple wearing parts. Our big advantage —asa machine manufacturer with our own foundries — is that we are both well acquainted with crushers and the crushing process and also have exceptional foundry expertise. This enables us to optimize our products for the customer. The capacity must be high Avery important aim for usis to produce crushers with the highest possible outputoffinished material forthe size of the machine. In this connection, the design of the crushing chamber is extremely important. Since the crushing cham- ber is formed by wearing liners, itis these liners that deter- mine the performance of the erusher. We have to balance performance against wear costs. If attempts are made to extend life by increasing the thickness at the point where the wear is greatest, the result could well be that money is lost instead, because of lost capacity. Acalculation ‘Assume that a medium-sized cone crusher produces produces 150 tons of 0-16 mm material per hour and that the normal life of the liners is 800 hours if the material is a certain type of granite. If the shape of the crushing chamber (i.e. the liners) deviates a ittle from the optimum, there can easily be a 2 % drop in output. This Corresponds to only 3 tons per hour, but over the entire life ofthe liners this adds up to all of 2400 tons. The value Of this oss of production is considerable in comparison with the cost ofthe liners. High capacity must be maintained Svedala Crushing and Screening have developed for Hydrocone crushersa range of crushing chambers which maintain their feed openings and high performance in other respects throughout their entire life. We call this type of crushing chamber CLP. Compared to conven: tional chambers, a CLP liner set can give 15 % more finished product during the total operating lif conventional lines, CLP lin oth ata particular instant and the liner set produce more be entre life of High quality materials for long life We havea programme of continual development toimprove thematerials of which our wearing partsare made. However, wwe retain the designations M1 (for our most common ese steel) and M2 (for the version with a higher ‘manganese content). uundry techniques have also been developed consider- ably in the search for higher quality. The steel is refined by blowingnoblegases through themelt. Together with vacuum forming, this gives castings with tight dimensional and mould tolerances. Careful control of heat treatment gives the optimum balance between hardness and toughness in the castings, for example. A well developed quality assur ance system in our factories ensures high and even quality in all our deliveries. Correct wearing parts in an optimized process We want our customers to use the wearing parts which give the best production economics. Our experts will gladly help by analysing the crushing process. After advice on the most suitable crushing chamber or the opti- ‘mum type of jaw plate and on the choice of manganese type (M1 or M2) When we study the process, i is not just the individual crusher which interests us. A settin ' ing crusher or a change in the hole size ona screen deck can work wonders! Our process engineers are continually dis- covering new, effective combinations which can bea benefit at we can give idjustment ina foreg to our customers Customers don’tusually go theirown way, butarehappy {0 use our assistance to follow up the effects of recom- mended changes. We in turn can increase our know-how further, Together wean develop andimprove our linersand jaw plates to give even better performance and utilization, Shortest possible delivery An advanced production control system is used to keep up wearing parts are always in stock. In most cases we can therefore offer rapid delivery from our comprehensive spare parts stores around the demand, so that all of the norm the world. ineers anal ts of worn liners in The quality assurance system at our foundries fulfil the requirements of ISO 9001. The crusher must be reliable The crusher and its wearing liners constitut dependent system. It is extremely important that the liners are manufactured with the correct dimensions and to- lerances, so that they can be properly installed in the correct position in the crusher. In addition, ned so that continuous expansion of the mat 1g operation can be absorbed in the correct way. The crusher’s protection against overloading can also be im: paired if the wearing liners are incorrectly shaped. Plastic backing is used in larger cone and gyratory crushers. In cooperation with our supplier we have developed a special type for crushers — PI exacting specifications. tic Pac — which meets very SVEDALA WORLDWIDE For further information please contact the Svedala headoffice in each country Australia Estoni Italy Russia Phone +6127481777 Phone «43726565411 Phone «4392903541 —-Phone_—=—47 502.253 2425 Fax 46127481952 Fax 43726561028 Fax 439290354209 Fax 47095 253 2972 Austria Finland Japan South Africa Phone +431 8136508 Phone «435802976122 Phone +813 56881621 Phone 427 113975092 Fax H3182423 Fax 438802977200 Fax 38135688 1688 Fax 427113973960 Belgium France Malaysia Spain Phone 43225298411 Phone «433164425900 Phone +6036328388 Phone == +341 61645 85 Fax 48225205602 Fax $33 168079181 Fax 26036396988 Fax $341 616 48.35 Brazil Germany Mexico Sweden Phone 455152252811 Phone +496100152580 Phone ——»«+5216169297 Phone —+4640409090 Fox 455152253390 Fax 96101 61126 Fae 45216134620 Fax 46 404039 90 Ghana ‘The Netherlands Switzerland +16139623411 Phone 423321229691 Phone 431786186888 Phone +411 843246, 416139027448 Fax WBN RE Fax 431786173 600 Fax 11844 3664 Hongkong, New Zealand UAE. 45622324365 Phone 485228275545 Phone 46478885699 Phone, 49714521175 45622322691 Fax 4852 28612652 Fax 46478885244 Fax 49714521432 China Hungary Norway United Kingdom Phone 486105765582 Phone 4361548269 Phone” 44722903500 Phone + 44 137237 9313, Fax 486105765438 Fax 4361267 1664 Fax 4472903590 Fax 248 157237 9508 ‘The Czech Republic India Peru usa Phone #425744026 Phone «491 116881659 Phone «5114225174 Phone. -—=—«+1-414 798.6200 Fax 425744026 Fax 491116881745 Fax SS1142 1071 Fax 31614798 6211 Denmark Indonesia Poland Vietnam Phone +45 53544011 Phone +6221 7361978 Phone «4831083137 Phone +848 226228 Tax 345 53544142 Faw 462217361977 Fax Hs32516147 Fax 8220229 18 960,002 en Other countries: Malmd, Sweden, Phone #46 4024 5800, Fax +46 4097 42 02 SVEDALA ¥y Svedala Industri AB RO.
