Galileo Galilei was an Italian physicist and astronomer whose most famous discovery was that the

Earth revolves around the sun. But Galileo was also responsible for several other major discoveries in
the field of physics and motion.

Besides his work on universal gravitation (gravity), Newton developed the three laws of motion which
form the basic principles of modern physics. His discovery of calculus led the way to more powerful
methods of solving mathematical problems

Einstein received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921 “for his services to theoretical physics, and
especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect” and he made some essential
contributions to the early development of quantum theory.

Gregorio Zara (March 8, 1902–October 15, 1978) was a Filipino scientist best known as the inventor
of the videophone, the first two-way electronic video communicator, in 1955. All told, he patented 30
devices. His other inventions ranged from an alcohol-powered airplane engine to a solar-powered
water heater and stove.

James Clerk Maxwell (1831-1879) was one of the greatest scientists who have ever lived. To him
we owe the most significant discovery of our age - the theory of electromagnetism. He is rightly
acclaimed as the father of modern physics. He also made fundamental contributions to mathematics,
astronomy and engineering.

Agapito Flores, the man behind the reason why the world becomes brighter. A Filipino Inventor who
is known for his funnel of the Fluorescent light tube invention. Fluorescent light, one of the most
commonly used lighting device in the world.

Del Mundo revolutionized Philippine medicine, making major breakthroughs in immunization and in
the treatment of jaundice, and providing healthcare to thousands of poor families. She is credited with
studies that led to the invention of the incubator and a jaundice relieving device.

Mechanical engineer Eduardo San Juan (aka The Space Junkman) worked on the team that
invented the Lunar Rover, or Moon Buggy. San Juan is considered the primary designer of the Lunar
Rover. He was also the designer of the Articulated Wheel System.
