1. UN RUCUERDO A MI PUEBLO
Rizal’s made this poem is to commemorate his memories in his beloved
hometown Calamba, his happiest and most beautiful memory of the place. And those
memories were influential in molding of his character and intelligence. He somehow
wishes he could rewind the time and spend more days doing what he used to do, being
with the people he used to be with, and feeling the sensations he felt as a boy. He wants
his innocence back, and the great feeling of praying to God Almighty with a little child's
faith which is believed to be the purest of all hearts.
I believe what this poem truly means is that life might be hard but never forget the
things and the people who molds us to be what we are in the present. Moreover, let us
not forget how beautiful nature was despite our journey in this modern world.
2. A LA JUVENTUD FILIPINA
A La Juventud Filipina is a poem which tells us how youth can be our countries
saviour during the Spanish Era, not just in the Spanish Era but even during this present
times. Rizal pointed out that youths are the geniuses that can bring forth the nations true
essence. He also said there that we, the youth, are capable of bringing changes for the
betterment of our country; we are to serve the nation. He wrote this for the youth to
realize that "they are the hope of the father land."
This poem Rizal made reminds me of my responsibility as a Filipino youth.
A poem that's been used and re-used/quoted and re-quoted time and time again, it
currently exists in a better known, watered down version which caters better to the
current generation's modern taste: “The youth is the hope of the nation”.
3. SA AKING MGA KABATA
Rizal’s poem tell us that in a certain young age he was already awake with the
reality that our country is enslave for more than a century. And this poem appeals to his
countrymen, to us, to love our national language and not embrace this false ruler who
rise upon us, which are the Spaniards. He also tells us that our language is unique like
every language there could be. We Filipinos must treasure and cherish the language and
the nationalism we have for our country.
Above all in this poem, It is also clear that he wants us to love our country , from
dialects , to letters of its own , so that we can have the courage to fight for our freedom.
He also believe that “Ang Kabataan Ang Pag asa ng Bayan” that is why he entitled this
poem to his fellow children to have that courage to fight for our country at young age at
any rational and peaceful way. And at young, age to love the country more than our
mortal self.
This poem reminds me of myself, that I want to encourage everyone to not only save
the nation but to save the whole planet from dying. Rizal’s poem about the youth does
not simply imply the responsibility of the youth for our language, country or nation. But
it also implies the responsibility of the youth for the greater good of the EARTH.
