Standard 1: Content Knowledge: Candidates demonstrate the knowledge necessary to

create, use, assess and manage theoretical and practical applications of educational

technologies processes.

A. 1.1 Creating- Create instructional materials and learning environments using a systems

approach

A. I had to create a website for my final for my learning with computers in a K-12

classroom class. The website housed all of my projects and homework for this class. In

this class I created a lot of presentations about specific technologies. The presentations

either explained what the technology was or showed how these technologies could be

used or integrated into a K-12 classroom. This website would be a great resource for

teachers that are trying to integrate technology in a classroom in a K-12 setting. It has a

lot of great resources that I use in my own classroom everyday. The website I created for

my final in Learning with computers K-12 classroom has multiple presentations,

integration strategies and assignments that show that I can create instructional materials

using a systems approach. Everything made on this website demonstrates creating and

understanding the content. I also met this standard with my ID models project and my

strategic plan project.

B. 1.2- Using- Select and use technological resources and processes to support student

learning.

A. I had to create a website for my final for my learning with computers in a K-12

classroom class. The website housed all of my projects and homework for this class. In

this class I created a lot of presentations about specific technologies. The presentations

either explained what the technology was or showed how these technologies could be

used or integrated into a K-12 classroom. This website would be a great resource for

teachers that are trying to integrate technology in a classroom in a K-12 setting. It has a

lot of great resources that I use in my own classroom everyday. The K-12 Classroom

final website that I created has multiple technology tools, presentations and integration

ideas embedded into it. This website has multiple resources that I personally researched

that will help student learning. The presentations included would be helpful for teachers

to watch to help with integrating technology into their classrooms. The purpose of the

website is to showcase different ways technology can be used in a K-12 classroom

environment. I also met this standard with my strategic plan project.

C. 1.3- Assessing/Evaluating- Assess and evaluate the effective integration of appropriate

technologies and instructional materials.

A. For the final for my website design I had to create and redo a website of a business or

school. I chose to redo the website of the Nodaway Valley Community School District. I

focused primarily on the elementary portion of the website. To do this I had to assess and

evaluate which web design tool would work best. Throughout the course I used multiple

different web design tools and settled on using Wix to create my final website. I had to

evaluate how it worked and if it worked well. Wix is a great website builder to use. I

would use it in the future when building websites for other projects. To create this

website I had to also assess what items I would like to use on the website. What colors to

use, what information to include, what pages I wanted to include and how I wanted it to

be set up. I also had to assess the appropriate types of technology to include in it. For

example, should I include teacher websites, social media sites and other types of media. I

also met this standard with my strategic plan project.

D. 1.4- Managing: Manage people, processes, physical infrastructures, and financial

resources to achieve predetermined goals.

A. I had to write a grant proposal for my grant writing class. The grant had to be above

$50,000. I chose to write my grant proposal for the Nodaway Valley Elementary School

playground. I found a grant through Omaha, Nebraska that would put up half of the

money if the school district would put up the other half. I created a budget, needs

assessment, grant proposal summary and a timeline. I worked with the school district to

come up with the details of the grant proposal. I met this standard by managing and

collaborating with my administrators to create this grant. I also created and managed a

budget for the grant proposal. The grant proposal I created in the grant writing class

shows managing processes, physical infrastructures, and financial resources to achieve a

predetermined goal. I had to have a goal to get a grant for a new playground. I met this

standard by working collaboratively with others and managing all of the different pieces

of the grant proposal. I had to manage a budget, the process of how it would work,

decide what resources needed to be used to achieve the goal of getting the grant and

manage my time well working with my administrators. I also met this standard with my

strategic plan project.

E. 1.5: Ethics: Demonstrate contemporary professional ethics of the field as outlined by

the AECT Code of Ethics.

A. I had to create a website for my final for my learning with computers in a K-12

classroom class. The website housed all of my projects and homework for this class. In

this class I created a lot of presentations about specific technologies. The presentations

either explained what the technology was or showed how these technologies could be

used or integrated into a K-12 classroom. This website would be a great resource for

teachers that are trying to integrate technology in a classroom in a K-12 setting. It has a

lot of great resources that I use in my own classroom everyday. The website I created for

my final in Learning with computers K-12 classroom has multiple presentations,

integration strategies and assignments. Creating this website I had to use the copyright

laws correctly, create my own work and in general show that I can demonstrate the ethics

outlined in the AECT Code of Ethics. I also met this standard with my ID model project,

web design project, strategic plan project and my grant proposal project.

Standard 2: Content Pedagogy- Candidates develop as reflective practitioners able to

demonstrate effective implementation of educational technologies and processes based on

contemporary content and pedagogy.

A. 2.1: Creating: Apply content pedagogy to create appropriate uses of processes and

technologies to improve learning and performance outcomes.

A. The strategic plan assignment was the final assignment for my strategic planning class.

The purpose of the assignment was to create a strategic plan for a company or school to

meet an end goal. I chose to create my strategic plan for the Nodaway Valley Community

School District. I created the plan throughout the semester of the class. I had to

collaborate with other teachers, administrators, staff members and parents to create the

plan and get it implemented. I met this standard with this project because my strategic

plan was to implement more literacy technology into our schools to increase our FAST

(Iowa benchmark test) scores. I had to implement effective technology into literacy time

in my own classroom and demonstrate the good things that were happening in my

classroom because of what I was implementing. I had to apply content pedagogy to

create appropriate uses of processes and technologies to improve learning and

performance outcomes. In the end my class did improve their scores quite a bit and

Nodaway Valley is still implementing the plan I created. I also met this standard with my

K-12 learning with computers website project.

B. 2.2: Using: Implement appropriate educational technologies and processes based on

appropriate content pedagogy.

A. The strategic plan assignment was the final assignment for my strategic planning class.

The purpose of the assignment was to create a strategic plan for a company or school to

meet an end goal. I chose to create my strategic plan for the Nodaway Valley Community

School District. I created the plan throughout the semester of the class. I had to

collaborate with other teachers, administrators, staff members and parents to create the

plan and get it implemented. I met this standard by actually implementing the plan and

the different types of literacy technology into my classroom. I had to be knowledgeable

about the content pedagogy and implement the technologies that I had found and actually

use them in a way to impact literacy scores. I also had to observe other teachers to see

how they are implementing literacy technology in their own classrooms. After observing

other teachers I then would work with them to help them find literacy based technology

they could use in their classroom that worked best for their needs. I also met this standard

with my strategic plan project.

C. 2.3: Assessing/Evaluating: Assess the adequacy of learning and evaluate the instruction

and implementation of technologies and processes.

instruction that I was doing for my strategic plan. There were some literacy technologies

that I used that were not effective. I had to evaluate the good the technologies were doing

compared to the bad. I had to ask myself what the kids were getting out of this

technology and if they could get a better knowledge from a different technology.

D. 2.4: Managing: Manage processes and resources to provide supportive learning

communities, create flexible and diverse learning environments, and demonstrate

appropriate content pedagogy.

The purpose of the assignment was to create a strategic plan for a company or school to

meet an end goal. I chose to create my strategic plan for the Nodaway Valley Community

School District. I created the plan throughout the semester of the class. I had to

collaborate with other teachers, administrators, staff members and parents to create the

plan and get it implemented. I met this standard by managing the strategic plan with a

committee of teachers and administrators. I went into the different classrooms and

observed what was happening and came up with better ways to implement technology to

improve our literacy FAST scores. I had other teachers come in and observe my literacy

time so they could see what worked for me. This allowed me to manage processes and

resources to provide supportive learning communities, create flexible and diverse

learning environments, and demonstrate appropriate content pedagogy.

E. 2.5: Ethics: Design and select media, technology, and processes that emphasize the

diversity of our society.

A. I had to create a website for my final for my learning with computers in a K-12

classroom class. The website housed all of my projects and homework for this class. In

this class I created a lot of presentations about specific technologies. The presentations

either explained what the technology was or showed how these technologies could be

used or integrated into a K-12 classroom. This website would be a great resource for

teachers that are trying to integrate technology in a classroom in a K-12 setting. It has a

lot of great resources that I use in my own classroom everyday. The website I created for

my final in Learning with computers K-12 classroom has multiple presentations,

integration strategies and assignments. All of the assignments and/or integration

strategies were created in a way that would work for different types of learning for

diverse students. I met this standard by selecting different technologies and media that

could be integrated with diverse populations. I created presentations for teachers to watch

that would allow them to watch the presentations and implement technology in different

ways that they might now have thought of. I also met this standard with my strategic plan

project.

Standard 3: Learning Environments- Candidates facilitate learning by creating, using,

evaluating, and managing effective learning environment.

A. 3.1: Creating: Create instructional design products based on learning principles and

research-based best practices.

A. I had to create a website for my final for my learning with computers in a K-12

classroom class. The website housed all of my projects and homework for this class. In

this class I created a lot of presentations about specific technologies. The presentations

either explained what the technology was or showed how these technologies could be

used or integrated into a K-12 classroom. This website would be a great resource for

teachers that are trying to integrate technology in a classroom in a K-12 setting. It has a

lot of great resources that I use in my own classroom everyday. I met this standard by

creating specific instructional presentations that show teachers how to integrate different

technologies into their classroom. Some of the presentations also show what the

technology is. I made sure to create my presentations so that they are based on learning

principles and research-based best practices. I also met this standard with my ID models

project.

learning based on principles, theories, and effective practices.

A. I had to create a website for my final for my learning with computers in a K-12

this class I created a lot of presentations about specific technologies. The presentations

either explained what the technology was or showed how these technologies could be

used or integrated into a K-12 classroom. This website would be a great resource for

teachers that are trying to integrate technology in a classroom in a K-12 setting. It has a

lot of great resources that I use in my own classroom everyday. I met this standard by

selecting appropriate resources and processes that provide optimal conditions for

learning based on principles, theories, and effective practices. One specific page of the

website is all about how to implement certain technologies into specific classroom

settings. This really shows mastery of this standard because I had to select specific

technology resources that would provide optimal learning conditions. I also met this

standard with my strategic plan project.

C. 3.3: Assessing/Evaluating: Use multiple assessment strategies to collect data for

informing decisions to improve instructional practice, learner outcomes, and the

learning environment.

A. The strategic plan assignment was the final assignment for my strategic planning class.

The purpose of the assignment was to create a strategic plan for a company or school to

meet an end goal. I chose to create my strategic plan for the Nodaway Valley Community

School District. I created the plan throughout the semester of the class. I had to

collaborate with other teachers, administrators, staff members and parents to create the

plan and get it implemented. I met this standard by creating different assessments that

would assess and evaluate the technology being used in the strategic plan. I also did a lot

of observations in other classrooms. The observations included questioning students on

the technology they are using in the classroom and what they are learning from it. I

collected data throughout the semester (and year after the class ended) on the literacy

improvement of the students at Nodaway Valley.

D. 3.4: Managing: Establish mechanisms or plans for maintaining the technology

infrastructure to improve learning and performance.

A. I had to create a website for my final for my learning with computers in a K-12

classroom class. The website housed all of my projects and homework for this class. In

this class I created a lot of presentations about specific technologies. The presentations

either explained what the technology was or showed how these technologies could be

used or integrated into a K-12 classroom. This website would be a great resource for

teachers that are trying to integrate technology in a classroom in a K-12 setting. It has a

lot of great resources that I use in my own classroom everyday. The presentation portion

of the website really shows how to manage technology in different learning environments

Each presentation is on a specific thing or skill that shows the reader how to introduce

that skill into the classroom. I also met this standard with my strategic plan project. I met

this standard with this project by creating a plan to improve literacy FAST testing scores

from fall to spring. I had to manage creating a plan and working with other teachers to

create a plan that would actually work. This plan was created to improve literacy scores

using literacy based technology during small group rotations.

E. 3.5: Ethics: Foster a learning environment in which ethics guide practice that promotes

health, safety, best practice, and respect for copyright, Fair Use, and appropriate open

access to resources.

A. 4.1: Collaborative Practice: Collaborate with peers and subject matter experts to

analyze learners, develop and design instruction and evaluate its impact on learners.

The purpose of the assignment was to create a strategic plan for a company or school to

meet an end goal. I chose to create my strategic plan for the Nodaway Valley Community

School District. I created the plan throughout the semester of the class. I had to

collaborate with other teachers, administrators, staff members and parents to create the

plan and get it implemented. I met this standard by collaborating with other teachers and

administrators at school to create this strategic plan for Nodaway Valley. I also worked

closely with our AEA district literacy consultant to find literacy technology that would

help students improve. I designed instruction using these technologies in my own

classroom and observed other teachers to help them find good literacy technology to use

in their classrooms for different grade levels. I also met this standard with my web design

project and grant proposal project.

parents and administrators in my school so we could create this strategic plan. I

implemented literacy technology into my classroom and helped others implement it into

Standard 5: Research: Candidates explore, evaluate, synthesize, and apply methods of

inquiry to enhance learning and improve performance.

A. 5.1: Theoretical Foundations: Demonstrate foundational knowledge of the contribution

of research to the past and current theory of educational communications and

technology.

A. For my final for Introduction to Theories of Instructional Design I had to create my on

instructional design model. I had to create a research based instructional design that is

based on another instructional design model. I chose to base my model off of the

ASSURE Model. I chose to name model the ADMAE model. This stands for audience,

determine objectives, determine materials, assess, and evaluate and revise. I had to

explain how my model would work in a K-12 classroom setting. I met this standard by

researching and creating a model based on the ASSURE Model. Our instructional design

model that we had to create had to be theoretically based on another model. Because of

this I had to demonstrate my foundational knowledge of the contribution of research to

the past and current theory of educational communications and technology. I also met

this standard with my K-12 classroom website project, strategic plan project and grant

proposal project.

B. 5.2: Methods: Apply research methodologies to solve problems and enhance practice.

design models work. To create an instructional design model that worked efficiently I

had to research different instructional design models. I had to prove that I could write a

paper that included a lot of research. I also met this standard with my K-12 classroom

website, strategic plan and grant proposal project.

C. 5.3: Assessing/Evaluating: Apply formal inquiry strategies in assessing and evaluating

processes and resources for learning and performance.

researching and using sources. The main way this standard was met was by citing my

sources correctly and using them correctly throughout my paper This standard was also

met in my strategic planning project, K-12 learning with computers project and in every

class that I have taken through the University of Arkansas.
