Factors that influence the preparation & designing
of one English For Specific Purposes
Class according to a specific Need Analysis.

There are three main aspects that all teachers have to consider when
preparing and designing an English class for English for specific
purposes.

1)Language descriptions:
It shows the language knowledge needed by the learners that put at the syllabus.

● What does the student need to learn?


● What aspect of language will be needed and how will they be described?
● What level of proficiency must be achieved?
● What topic areas will need to be covered?
2) How the learner acquire a
language.
It is about the methodology and learning
theories that will be used to identify the
student’s needs.

3) The nature of particular target and learning situation.
Taking into account the requirement of the need analysis, we can make the following
questions:

● Why does the students need to learn?

● Who is going to be involved in the process? who will the learner use the
language with?

● Where is the learning to take place? What potential does


the place provide? What limitation does it impose?

● When does the learning take place? How much time is


available? How will it distributed?
