Course Title : HUMAN ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY
Pre-requisite : GENERAL ZOOLOGY
Co-requisite : n/a
Credit : 5 units
Contact hours/week : 9 hours/week

II. Course Description: This course is pre-medical lecture/lab course that provides a thorough introduction to histology (the study of tissues) and human gross
anatomy (study of organs and organ systems), with an emphasis on laboratory study, Cadaver dissection, along with human
plastinated prosections and organs and models, will be used to achieve an understanding of human structure. It also involves the study
of the structure and functional significance of the human body – with emphasis on neural, musculoskeletal and cardiopulmonary
systems and introduction to clinical application of relevant anatomy, with respect to some common conditions seen in the health/medical
profession. Laboratory activities utilize compound microscopes and dissection equipment to investigate tissue and organ levels of human
anatomy. Gross dissection of cats and demonstrations utilizing cadavers is an integral portion of the course.
