Linearization of the governing equations, Boundary-value problems of linear elasticity. Im-
portant consequences of Linear Elasticity: Superposition Principle, Uniqueness of Solutions,
Clapeyron’s Thoerem, Betti-Rayleigh Reciprocity Theorem. Examples such as bending, tor-
sion, two-dimensional problems: plane stress and plane strain, rotating cylinder and disc,
Airy stress functions

regular student and his/her performance should be enough to earn atleast a PASS (DD)
