KONTES MOBIL HEMAT ENERGI 2019

Kontes Mobil Hemat Energi (KMHE) is a national level event organized

by DIKTI. Every year, contests are created by students from all tertiary institutions
in Indonesia. KMHE emphasizes more on the energy efficiency of cars designed
by students as a result of applying knowledge received during college. The race is
divided into two categories based on vehicle categories, namely Urban and
Prototype. The design cars that are contested by KMHE are divided into 4 classes
based on the driving motor, including the Gasoline Internal Combustion Motor
(MPD), Ethanol MPD, Diesel MPD and Electric Motor.
The activity that was originally named the Indonesia Energy Marathon
Challenge (IEMC) is an energy-efficient car contest held every year that began in
2012, 2013 and 2014, all of which were carried out by the Sepuluh November
Institute of Technology at the Kenjeran Circuit in Surabaya. In 2015, this event
was held by Brawijaya University in Kanjuruhan Circuit Malang, the number of
participants 62 teams came from 34 universities. In 2016, KMHE was
implemented by Gadjah Mada University in the Prambanan Temple Tourism Park
Vehicle Track in Yogyakarta, with 60 teams from 38 universities. In 2017, it was
held again by the Sepuluh November Institute of Technology at the Kenjeran
Circuit in Surabaya, with 80 teams from 43 tertiary institutions as participants. In
2018, it was carried out by Padang State University (UNP) in the UNP Campus
Circuit, with 80 teams from 40 tertiary institutions.
In 2019, it was carried out by Malang State University (UM) in the JSI
Circuit (Jakarta Street – Simpang Ijen Street) Malang, with 80 teams from 45
universities. KMHE 2019 carries the theme "Utas Awij untuk Alam" which is
based on the distinctive language of Arek Malang with the aim of uniting the soul
to preserve nature. The great hope is that this contest is held to unite the lives of
the citizens for the sake of environmental sustainability through the concept of
energy-efficient vehicles
The purpose of this event is to facilitate students throughout Indonesia
in designing, building, testing, innovating, and competing in energy-saving cars
that are safe and environmentally friendly. The short-term target of this
competition is to become a benchmark or reference for students to continue to
similar competitions at the International level. The long-term target of the
competition is for Indonesian children to be able to design and make their own
vehicles that are energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
The 2019 Energy Saving Car Contest consists of two vehicle categories
including the following :
1. Prototype : Future vehicles with special designs maximizing
aerodynamic aspects for race needs.
Fuel Class : Gasoline, Diesel, Ethanol, and Electricity.

2. Urban Concept : Four-wheeled vehicle that looks like a vehicle on

generally and suitable for vehicles on the road.
Fuel Class : Gasoline, Diesel, Ethanol, and Electricity.
