ABSTRACT /PREFACE
According to worldometers.info, 7.4 billion humans live on Earth as of January
2017 , Although living in the city has many advantages such as good access to medical
treatment, the higher number of jobs, higher salaries, and also richer cultural life, several
studies indicated that living in cities causes stress via noise, pollution, and hectic living
style.
Many people are migrating from rural areas to urban areas for better living
conditions, facilities, employment etc.. which leads to extinction of rural traditions and
culture but in turn, they are not relatively happy with the urban hustle environment i.e
because of the population, less green spaces, etc. So they were looking back to rural areas
for peace(physically, mentally).

happens-when-people-migrate-to-urban-areas/
There is a need for developing rural tourism So that migration will be reduced and also
people from other places will also feel the rural environment. According to [Lane B.,
What is Rural Tourism, 1994] rural tourism as a concept is a form of tourism that is
located in rural areas, reflecting the differing and complex patterns of rural environment,
economy, history, and location. rural tourism should be sustainable activities and it
should be an agent of rural development.
Rural tourism will bring people of different cultures, faiths, languages, and
lifestyles close to one another. It can provide a broader outlook of life, not only in
generating employment for the people but it can also develop social, cultural and
educational values.

INTRODUCTION
villages are the backbone of our nation. When we respect its tradition and
culture, we can understand the valuable heritage which our nation possesses.
Tourism has been proved as one of the best ways to upgrade the lost rural
culture.
yet Andhra Pradesh is a developing state, but there are few rural areas
where there are fewer facilities and employment rates even if they are few miles
apart from the main core area of the city.

Rural tourism types –

• Nature-based tourism
• Agritourism
• Heritage tourism
Since the proposed site has scope for developing all the three aspects, those can be potentials
of the site.
AIM
• The aim of this study is to upgrade the living conditions of existing villagers,
using architecture as a tool to create economic opportunities for the
villagers.

OBJECTIVES
• Design with better infrastructural facilities i.e. roads, hospitals, schools,
hotels, communication lines, etc.
• Developing tourism by highlighting the natural beauty of the village and
surroundings.
• Decreasing the gap between tourists and villagers.
METHODOLOGY

Where comprehensive study includes the investigation of local

architecture and identifying places that can be turned into tourist
spots.
NEED/RELEVANCE OF THE STUDY

Some undeveloped rural villages are being forgotten and ignored which is leading to the
extinction of tradition
Currently, those temples are developing but the facilities for the villagers are not
sufficient. So by identifying local culture, crafts, and activities and providing respective
occupations to them would help to increase the economy of the village.

DESIGN PROGRAMME
Rural Tourism encompasses a huge range of activities, natural or manmade
attractions, amenities, and facilities, marketing and information systems. Rural
tourism is very diverse and fragmented in terms of operational structures, activities,
markets and operating environments.

Rural tourism is not just farm-based tourism. It includes farm-based holidays but
also comprises special interest nature holidays and ecotourism, walking, climbing
and riding holidays, adventure, sport and health tourism, hunting and angling,
educational travel, arts, and heritage tourism, and, in some areas, ethnic tourism.

SCOPE
This project has a goal of using architecture as a way of communicating ideas of
tourism to the region. Tourists can be attracted by providing essential facilities and
recreational places in the lower village( lower Ahobilam). so the income of the village will
also be increased. It can provide a broader outlook of life, not only in generating
employment for the people but it can also develop social, cultural and educational values.

LIMITATIONS
• Limitations will be set up after the site study
CONCLUSION
This topic will reflect the concepts and ideas essential &important to understand
and design the rural tourism on the proposed site .this design will also help to
get/increase the economy of the village(i.e. with the help of architecture). This
design will also attract people from highly polluted urban areas to rural areas
which are very close to nature.
